Wow.. Still can't use my numeric keypad after the update.

Ok, so I backed up my saves and downloaded the beta patch last week, however it broke my numeric keypad and nothing happened when I pressed any key, and that svcks because I use the numeric keypad for my favorites (Yes, the numlock button IS on, that was the first thing I thought of). The numbers still work above the letters, but the keypad is better for me because of location, so I uninstalled the beta and it worked again..

Today I download it, and the same damn issue is happening. I baked up my saves and then uninstalled Fallout then redownloaded it to see if that worked -- NOPE, numeric keypad still is broken, however this time I can't revert back to the game without the patch. I'm so mad.

Does anyone know how to fix this? I've already viewed options and settings, there is nothing.

I got the 1.2 patch today and now my keypad no longer works either. You can't fix it because Steam updates (patches) the game automatically when you start the game. I don't understand why Bethesda does not pick up a keyboard and try out the patches they do before releasing. My game was working fine before this patch with the keypad. svcks that we have to change our game experience to accommodate the idiot who did this patch!

This is by design. They've made the numpad keys bindable for the sake of lefties (like me) who use the numpad instead of WASD, and for others who's preferred key layout includes any numpad keys.

Unfortunately, they've left a lot of other keys hard-coded, to the point that a non-default key layout still doesn't work very well, and they've also messed up the layout for those who use the numpad for hotkeys. They could have had the numpad default to hotkeys while still being rebindable for those who wanted to do so, but here we are.

The easiest way to fix it is with F4SE. They've exposed the keybinds in a text file which can be edited to fix up some of the issues. You can make the numpad work as hotkeys again, or eliminate some of the hard-coding to make remapped key layouts work properly. There's a thread about F4SE in the Mods section of the forum where you can get more information.

This is absolutely asinine. It's fine if they want to make it bindable for the sake of lefties. But how about letting us actively CHOOSE what we do, and do not want to use to bind? I LIKED having my numpad as my favorites because I use a naga mouse and my binds are ALL THERE. Damn this is absolutely stupid. I actually prefer the vanilla launch over this garbage.

Well, at least with Naga you can acually change the binds on the side to normal number keys, yes?
