Question About Combat Zone

Post » Thu Dec 10, 2015 3:01 pm

In the original E3 showcase and trailor there's a very short clip showing the end of a fight in the combat zone. I traveled there recently and was attacked. Out of fear that I just squandered a pretty awesome idea of the game (arena fighting), I loaded a previous save so as to preserve the Combat Zone untouched. Is there a way to actually watch a fight there? A way were I'm not attacked immediately?

Only if you walk in and stay hidden, but ad far as I know, they will always become hostile once you are noticed

What a shame. You think with all the arena mods for Bethesda games, and the arena in Oblivion, that Bethesda would have picked up on the fact that a functioning arena would absolutely be an awesome feature. Perhaps someone can make a mod where you become the new owner of Combat Zone and can schedule fights, take/make bets, ect. Would be epic!

I think Combat Zone was one of the biggest letdowns for the returning players to the series. Everyone seems to have reloaded a save only to find out that part had no surprises. I think the ghoul you rescue mentioned something about taking the place under new ownership, maybe in a later DLC it will have some kind of importance. Probably not, seeing as though the add-ons are usually based around a new area entirely, but it's possible

Yea that and the.... other super neat location... were just really, really big upsets to me. I ran up to the place all excited, thinking I've found a cool place to hang out and bet some caps only to be waylaid by every swinging piece in the joint.

You'd think they would want a few such places to offset the dearth of proper cities and add a cap sink. I mean, we didn't even get a card game or nothing.

Boo. That svcks :( No karma system is fine, but no support for leading a less than good life style is crap. The Combat Zone should not be initially hostile and you should be able to turn your settlements over to someone like the gunners. Evil doesn't need to be a title you wear on your forehead, but come on BGS. This is bad :(

I love huge expansions, but there's absolutely no reason why Bethesda can't do more smaller DLC add-ons that just add one feature, a corresponding quest line, or flesh out something a little further. A win win, more $ for Bethesda and more content for us seperate from DLC expansions. In fact, if I had one suggestion it would be to devote a Bethesda team to just cranking out smaller, lore-friendly DLC or official mods. It's a no-brainer and they should be able to more than afford it with all the money they made off Fallout Shelter.

I tried it with my stealth character, even while fully hidden they went into "alert" mode shortly after and went looking for me.
