You should be able to "scrap" settlers in workshop mode. You'd get:

-Their gear & loot

-Skull (50%) or Upper Skull & Human Jaw (50%)

-Complete skeleton (all skeleton junk bits except skull, upper skull & jaw, 30% chance of recieving "broken" variant)

-5 to 7 Blood Pack (irradiated blood if a ghoul)

Most companions or nearby name-bearing NPCs would "hate" this (some might like it), and the settlement's happiness would drop by 10 to 25%.

Anyway, I'm off to get me head examined, toodles!

This would be a good way to clean up bodies after defending your settlements. You could get bones and strange meats....

For a game that engage in cannibal, it's not that farfetched, but I'm thinking certain NPC or companions would attack you outright if you ever harvest organs like that, similar to if you get caught eating people. People like Piper would definitely shoot you for something like that considering the things she shot me for.

I bet (hope) someone will make a mod that lets us scrap the bodies littering some of the settlements. It's ridiculous they are just ignored by settlers. I have a settlement with a bunch of dead ghouls, but the settlers don't seem to care. Why aren't they putting them in a pile and burning them!!?

Kind of my pet peeve with this game..

NukaRanger, doesn't always work on all of them, and beware of using this method, but for most skeletons/bodies you can open the console "~" if US std kybd, click the body/skele, and type "disable" without the quotes and they'll disappear.

Note, that sometimes it won't work, and it'll tell you "I was told to delete this but it has a valid parent state (or something like this) so I don't think this is a good idea, not disabling, toodles" lol

so.. try that on the bodies that are getting on your nerves, or you can do what I did, and toss them into the sinkhole... >.> (I have 243 hours in, most in settlement construction and body removal it seems, and yes, I WILL carry a body for an hour to dump it if I can't disable it)

Yeah, I know about the console commands, but I'd rather not have to do that. I shouldn't have to do that. I tried moving the bodies to another location and they magically wander back to the place they died.

It was like this in Skyrim too and probably Oblivion, so I'm guessing it's an issue with the core of the engine. I'm sure they've tried to resolve the issue, but just can't or won't for some reason.

Could've been another level of the cannibal perk.
