Fallout occasionally enters a shadow dimension

I'm frequently seeing a bug that looks like this:

http://i.imgur.com/ctmMQ9F.png

The sky is black, and everything else except light sources turns grey and featureless. Fires, lanterns, bulbs, etc, all look fine. And if i look in certain directions, the world restores to normal temporarily. But it goes back to this when it turn around. And everything leaves a wierd afterimage

The only way ive been able to solve it so far though is reloading, and trying the area again.

It sometimes happens when entering new cells, or when finishing a conversation. I think it also only happens at night, or in interiors

it's extremely annoying.

My specs are probably relevant:

Amd Fx 4300 series, 3.8 ghz quad core cpu

Radeon R9 270X video card

8 GB DDR3 Ram

Windows 8.1

Anyone else seeing this? Any advice?

Wow.. very trippy. I see how that could make things difficult. I wish I could advise you but I have not even tried to play this on a computer I know mine would struggle with the graphics. Look up your video card and see if its safely in the range of minimum requirements. At least you can get things back by rebooting. Hopefully you don't have to do that every 10 minutes though that's just a sign you are lacking on reqs.

relatively speaking, it's fairly rare. And my hardware is reasonable enough to handle the game i think

I'm also using ENBoost, correctly configured for my video memory, which has helped texture loading issues a lot. though the problem happened long before i started using that, and hasn't really gotten any more or less common since

I would re-install GPU driver in your case. Download lastest driver from manufacturer, remove old driver, reinstall. Some people swear to using programs like driver sweeper to remover drivers, altho I have never had need for it.

That looks like a problem with the video card.
