There's only two ways two obtain the deathclaw gauntlet and bringing the egg to the nest is one of them, so it's up to you. Also, you will miss the opportunity to take a selfie with a deathclaw without getting your face ripped off.

Yea being the humane tree huger I am, I took it back. I was just afraid if I kept it mama would show up at the worst possible time to claim it back.

I was actually expecting something cooler like incubating an egg and then wait for it to hatch and have a deathclaw baby as a pet! It would grow steadily and become more powerful. Sigh, such a missed opportunity.

2 ways? I have a deathclaw gauntlet that I looted from a normal NPC and I'm pretty sure I've seen Arturo selling one. (level 32 here)

You're supposed to get a death claw gauntlet there?

I Stealth-boyed in and out and didn't get anything for my trouble. It seemed oddly pointless. Especially since I got involved in a (potentially unrelated) fight with two dethclaws nearby so saving that egg ended up being a net -2 deathclaws in the world (I think I'm eco-terroistign wrong).

There is a Deathclaw Gauntlet stuck in the ground infront of the nest. The Deathclaw won't actually attack you, you can even talk to it. Quite cool scene.

This is what I get for being a perpetual sneak. In and out with no one the wiser and I miss out on stuff like this. Whodathunkit?

Really you can talk to it? I will have to try it on my 2nd pass. It truly was the only time in the game I was scared &&&&less. I very slowly, while she pranced around, walked up to the nest, placed the egg in the nest and then ran like there was no tomorrow. Who the freak had the courage to try and talk to it???? Not me I can tell you that LOL

Yeah, you can find other deathclaw eggs in the game. There are deathclaw nests strewn about when exploring. So, if you're worried about not being able to eat a scrumptious deathclaw omelette don't be.

Thanks I did not see it, went in during the night, yes it was cool to stand next to an deathclaw and you could say stuff to it :)

I have multiple deathclaw hands, think they are rare loot from boss chests and similar.

Might be that this is the only sure way to get one.

The two other deathclaws attacked the raider base then I turned on the alarm. Nice with raiders tanking for you and you can use the settlement to stay away from them.

Keep the egg.

I had intention of bringing it back, but when I went to the nest, I saw mama. Her bar was green, so I didn't kill her. However, as I was looking around, the bar turned red and she attacked.

Proving, once and for all, Deathclaws deserve no sympathy. Kill them all.

PS: the reason she attacked is because there's a boundary around the nest. If you enter it, then leave without placing the egg, she gets mad. I didn't know about the boundary, so she is now a belt and a pair of shoes.

I gave the egg away. I see to many eggs lying about as it is. I shoot them all. Don't want anything hatching and growing up to kill me.
