Why can't we be able to build simple things?

Post » Fri Dec 11, 2015 1:14 am

I like the dark nights besides a camp fire, but for no reason (atleast I can't see any) there's no option to make one. The camp fire is in the game, so why not be able to make one?

And the same goes for the lanterns. Some places there's hard-fixed burning lanterns, and there's lanterns you can pick up as loot. Why can't we make them, or use those we find?

We can build hi-tech stuff, but not basic cavemen stuff.. I would rather have a cosy camp fire than a big flashing light board..

Because camp fire is a role playing aspect, and RP is successfully eliminated from the franchise by Beth. You have house building, because it is like Minecraft, and Minecraft sells now.

That sounds like a request to be made to the modding community. Let Bethesda tackle the bigger more complex stuff (Well, to the best of their ability. We need fixes for the things that are still broken.).

Your opinion that Beth has eliminated all RP from the franchise is as ridiculous as calling a camp fire a role play aspect....we get you are dissatisfied with the game, but making exaggerated claims does not support your extreme position.

Right. I want to have a working refrigerator but I have to settle for the Ice bin.

Speaking of dark nights, I've noticed there is no shooting stars in the sky. Would have been nice next to your camp fire idea.

Speaking of dark nights, they're only dark if you have the darker nights mod installed :)

Fallout NV had a mod for portable camp fires and portable bedrolls. (Think we had mods for that as far back as Morrowind?) Seeing as the model of a sleeping bag already exist in the game I bet we'll see a new mod for FO4 when the GECK gets released and modders can do more then what they do now with their own limited mod tools.

No mater how many things they allowed you to build, there would still still be threads like these complaint about something they forgot

A sleeping bag mod will be one of the first things I make when the GECK comes out. I don't understand why Beth didn't make one, it's so simple to do. But then again, they made the effing absurd decision to force you to sit in a chair to wait, which still has me scratching my head.

I kind of like that change, though. I kind of want to add a "Deep Sleep" perk that gives you the Well Rested bonus from any bed you find, and then at a later rank lets you "power-nap" at chairs and give you the Well Rested benefit from just waiting anywhere - now that you have to wait at a piece of unowned furniture it wouldn't be as ridiculously imbalanced.

I also want to try and encourage more "realistic needs" behaviors with traits instead of meters, so I'd also want to add a trait that doubles the duration of the Well Rested benefit, and then slows your AP regeneration if you're not Well Rested. (gotta think of good traits to make us consume more food and water)

heh this falls along the same lines as making ammo. We can make all this other stuff, but can't make ammo.

There is plenty or RP aspects to the game. VATS is in your face RP, all the attacks you make are dice rolls, loot, and loot attributes are dice rolls as well. Whatever your angry about, I don't think it's Bethesda. But there are plenty of Role playing games that you can setup at home and play, including ones that share the same/similar content to Fallout. You can play those, rather than create an account on the Fallout forums to complain and troll. Don't like the game or what it's become? Don't buy it/play it, do other things. There's lots to do in the world. Good luck! :)

I'd say most people haven't. Standing in one place for a long time is hard on the back and legs. I take it you've never been in a wedding
