How do I win as minute men?

Post » Fri Dec 11, 2015 10:55 am

First of all I assume it's possible to get attacked and use the artillery at the castle but I've never had that happen despite playing through twice.

Also, someone mentioned it's possible to wipe out the other factions using the minute men? How do I go down that path?

The Minutemen follow your lead.

You don't get the option to win with the Minutemen unless you piss off the other three factions. Then you get the option to destroy the remaining faction(s) with a Minutemen victory.

Piss off the Brotherhood and you'll get a quest to destroy them. As for finishing as the Minnutemen.

Quickest and simplest way to get that to trigger is, get kicked out of the Institute before Underground Undercover and the Railroad will direct you to using the minutemen. Though simply getting kicked out then talking with Preston should be enough if you infiltrated the organization with Struges during Molecular level.

Wrong on so many levels you only have to offend the Institute.

Ok so not that hard to get kicked out of the institute. What exactly do I do to piss off the brotherhood?

From what I've read, to piss off the Brotherhood you just have to kill any named member of the faction. I did it by killing the Elder (boy, escaping the airship was a bit tricky), but some other guys did it simply by killing Knight Rhys at the Cambridge Police Station. At any rate, you'll get a message saying "you are now enemies with the Brotherhood of Steel", so you'll know when it happens.

For me, nothing.

My first playthrough I did the initial Palladin Dance mission to fetch the transmitter, then ignored the brotherhood by not doing a single mission or visiting the Prywden. When I blew up the Institute the Brotherhood went hostile and the Prywden was blown up as well though not by me.

They are easily annoyed it seems.

Killing named Paladins, Scribes or Knights is a sure way to piss them off. Unnamed characters obviously don't count.

You do not need to anger the Brotherhood in order to finish with the Minutemen. You just need to get kicked out of the Institute. I finished the game via the Minutemen route and I was still friendly with the BoS and Railroad at the end of it.

I just waited until Father gave me the quest "The Battle of Bunker Hill". Then I didn't warn anyone about it, went there and let the synths go free and killed the courser (only kill Institute members during this battle if you really have to - ignore everyone else). Then, when Father asks to see you on the rooftop, tell him what you did and call him crazy - that'll get you kicked out of the Institute. Then just go and talk to Preston and the rest plays out from there.

Edit: Its a very quick and lame ending though!

All I did was have the MM help me build the transporter. Then I went and talked to Father, being I hated Father and was really PO'ed about everything I just killed Father right there on the spot before leaving. The second I got back the Institute attacked the Castle with a major force. After we win that battle the MM and I go back to Institute and rig their reactor to explode.

At which point I get to watch a mushroom cloud. Then I get the Credits. After the quick Credits I get notice that the BoS quests are no longer available but the RR still are. I guess I could of kept playing but I was unhappy with my first play through anyway so I restarted.

Cool thanks for the reply guys. I'm guessing all the endings have the same short vid at the end and yeah kinda lame for such a great game.

Killing Father is a good starting point LOL I didn't even join to be kicked out, I just shot him the first time I met him.

If I already finished by being friends with the BOS, can I still get the MM to help destroy them? Railroad and Institute are destroyed.

For fun, after I won, I went and got Danse, and we went to the air ship. It wouldn't let me kill the Elder :( He would just drop to a knee then get back up.

As long as you actually join the MM don't you always win as them, sort of?

I mean they survive all the endings and as long as you joined you are the General...

Yes but if you built the transporter with someone else.... it might get more complicated. I just told him how to trigger it automatically.

Oh the radiant BoS quests are still available they just don't show up in the pipboy unless you are actively on them.
