I understand why you selected those songs, but as soon as they blend digital sounds they don't fit in the same world as Fallout. I think the artists featured in Bioshock would be a good jumping off point if anything.

Keep in mind to use someone else's copyrighted material you have to have permission and pay a royalty. It's entirely possible a lot of stuff had to be left out because either the copyright holder wouldn't allow it or wanted too much money

I completely agree, but If collaboration is possible that would be ideal for both parties; people are talented, able to create music that I am positive could sound of actual meaningfulness.

The amount of times I can stand to hear butcher pete is limited and then the repeats from FO3.

*EDIT--->these artist below play to be heard<-----edit*

Yeah, it boils down to music copyright protection which can be pretty complex. Public domain music can be used commercially without restrictions or payment of royalties.

- Any piece of music published before 1/1/1923 is public domain.

- Any piece of music published between 1/1/1923 and 1/1/1964 that has not been copyrighted is public domain.

- Any piece of music published before 1/1/1978 has a 95 year copyright protection.

- Any piece of music published after 1/1/1978 is copyrighted for the life of the author / composer + 70 years.

For example, Michael Jackson died on June 25, 2009. His music will become public domain on June 26, 2079.

Is that so? In the past these boards were the source of claims that music rights were 25 years with an option of 25 more, meaning anything older that 50 years was in the public domain. Those were the rules I used making a new radio station for Fallout 3. Are these laws new, or were we all wrong before?
