More settler jobs

So one thing I absolutely love in Fo4 is the settlement building, I'm a little ashamed at how little of the game I've explored versus how many settlements I have built, fallout sims is addictive and amazing apart from a couple of small issues (wall builder tool *twitch*) but one thing that I find a little annoying, is that once you have a good amount of settlers, how few jobs there are for settlers to do aside from just wander around or stand there like idiots in my way.

I'm the kind of person who likes to "theme" my settlers, like maybe these 2 are a couple, this guy looks like a [censored], hes the town drunk in rags, etc and this is easy to accomplish with settlers assigned to be mechanics (scrap tables) farmers (crops) guards (guard towers) and shop owners (stores) but for anything else, its just kinda lacking. I really wish there was a way to add a couple more actions to the settlers or just little misc jobs they could do, even if its to little or no outcome, there are already animations for a lot of neat things that are just wasted as decoration.

Here are a few actions that I feel could add immersion into the game by giving more options to settlers and possible benefits they could have:

Handymen: we all know that settlers have fixing animations, hammering away at this wall or that one, let me assign them to a length of wall or a building that they just go around and "maintain"

Effect:

  • Adds to happiness or gives a small boost to defense.

Cook: If you have ever put a stove in a settlement, you may have noticed that settlers have animations for it and will use it at random, why not have it be an assigned task?

Effect:

  • Boost to food rating or happiness.
  • Food and drink vendors have a larger selection.

Gun/Armorsmith: Settlers already have animations for use the crafting tables, again why not have them be assigned to them

Effect:

  • Boost to happiness
  • Weapons, armor, and chem vendors have a wider selection

Sentry/Patrol Guard: You can already have guards assigned to towers, but that requires building a bulky guard post, Id like to have guards able to be stationed anywhere, or to patrol around an area, guards assigned to multiple guard posts will already patrol between them, It should be a simple matter to assign custom patrol routes using the same AI.

Effect:

  • Boost to Defense rating (smaller than guard post)

Again these are just ideas but I feel with all the underutilized animations that these could be very realistically implemented, what are your opinions on these or others jobs/tasks settlers could be assigned?
