- Campaign: You will play the story in order. When you lose, you play the same map again, but against another team.
You never *have* to play the story in order. Players can choose to play any part of the story the wish, even if they want to jump straight to the end that is fine. The story is designed so no matter what order you play it in, it will make sense. In Campaign, you cannot swap teams in-game, and many settings cannot be changed.
- Objective: You will play the story, but you can choose in which order. If you lose, you play the next map against the same or another team.
Objective (or freeplay) means you can play how you wish, without really cating about the story. You can change settings, you can swap teams - this is the mode that will play more like a traditional MP game.
- Stopwatch: You will play the story, but you can choose in which order. You will play each map twice. The team that is able to complete all objectives in the shortest time span wins. When both teams are unable to complete all objectives, it's a draw. Since we are not sure how stopwatch works exactly, there may be a system in place to prevent draws.
Again, choosing in which order to play maps is not distinctive to Stopwatch. Stopwatch is about speed and efficiency and is the mode many competitive players tend to play - here's how it works:
Team A is offense. They complete the map in X amount of team. Now Team B goes on offense and they need to beat that time to win. This is also the mode that SD plays for many of the internal playtests.
