I have exams starting at 8:30AM on release day. I might go to the midnight launch.. but maybe not. Could just wait until I get out and pick it up on the way home.

le sigh

Not once. Not ever. Gamestop is a circus on release days and far too expensive.

This. Thanks to preloading I'm going to make the most of my day off playing Fallout. Thanks to d/l most of the game files a couple days early, at 12:01 Nov 11 I'll be right before my rig downloading any remaining files/game keys and/or day 1 patches for the game. Which shouldn't take more that 10-15 min tops given my blitzkrieg fast 50Mbps Comcast cable connection. Should have the game up and running in about 20mins. Which is about 1/5 the time it would take to go to the nearest Walmart, stand in line, finally buy the retail copy at midnight, then drive home. Thanks to preloading, I'll be basically playing the game while everyone else is still waiting in line at Walmart, Target, and Gamestop at midnight. And definitely well into adventuring the wasteland by the time UPS or Fedex typically make their rush deliveries later that morning. :D

And oh yeah---naff those U.K. lushes and their Fallout beer. I'm buying half a dozen bottles of nuka cola from Target the week FO4 goes live. These should go well with my creative wasteland survival lunch box for the early morning breakfast and latter lunch I'm planning for the post 12:01 party :

  • a salami roll (my pretend cram/mystery critter meat)
  • baguettes (pass as stale bread)
  • chunk of aged sharp cheddar cheese (pass as moldy cheese)
  • seedless graqes (mutfruit) and 1-2 granny smith apples.
  • sugar bombs (aka Kellog's frosted mini wheats)
  • 1 pint of 1 headed, non mutated Brahmin milk
  • trusty tin camping mug
  • 1-15 oz can each of Chef Boyardee beefaroni and ravioli
  • small bottle freeze dried coffee & sugar
  • my trusty swiss army knife, camping fork, spoon, and tin bowl.
  • can pork and beans (like it says on the tin)
  • Thermos of hot water
  • All that left over Halloween candy I didn't get around to eating. Non lore but hey--it's my lunchbox! :D
  • iphone (aka remote pc terminal) <--so don't have to logout of game in order to track whatever news is going on in Beth's section of the Fallout universe (as well as checking up on my Fallout Shelter games) :bunny:

Been stocking up on these and packing them into my old FO3 lunch box. They'll come in nice and handy for and early morning snack once I launch the game
