Trashcan Carla Warning.

Post » Fri Dec 11, 2015 4:06 pm

So I'm at my main base in sanctuary, just doing some trading in the marketplace I built. Then I hear a distant boom, I get some random XP and piper blurts out "what the hell has gotten into you?!" I also get a popup saying piper hated the thing I just did, not that I know what it was . . . yet.

Then the penny dropped. Those [censored] mines I put down every where like it was going out of fashion. She triggered one, I thought she was friendly?

Anyway I found her body near the bridge(still in one piece miraculously)it was definitely a mine. I'm ok as I quicksaved fairly recently, just letting you guys know. Dunno if it's intentional or a bug.

R.I.P Trashcan Carla, trader, Brahmin owner, possible raider spy.

Yeah I thought about making a mine field before I saw the trader coming and going. I still want a mod that adds in a place-able mine field, with some sort of IFF system to prevent friendly casualties.

Traders might be classed as "Neutral" because they trade with anyone. That's how it was in FO3.

Carla doesn't trade with Ferals, though... when I first met her, Ferals were trying to rip her apart. :)

@Mavkiel:

Terminals control whether traps are triggered by friendlies or not.

LOL. I guess one needs to be aware of where you lay your mines.

I set up a whole bunch in the path leading down to that sinkhole where a Deathclaw lives. After failing at killing him about a dozen times I left them there. I don't guess someone will wander onto them. Maybe I should go back and pick them up?

Yeah but unless I missed an option there wasnt an actual minefield option. Call me old fashioned, but nothing gives a friendly welcome like a raider stepping on a mine. (Opposed to flame thrower traps, or tesla traps.)
