We need to change the way weapons are named

Renamed the gear I want to keep with an x in front so it's at the bottom, when I can at least, so little chances I'll stick it somewhere while sorting inventory AFAP. As for chnaging it, I think they should be working on things that are actual bugs then things people are just too lazy to do themselves.

Armor can spawn in three different grades. Normal>Sturdy>Heavy in increasing order of power. The latter two appear only at higher levels and take higher perk levels to modify, but are significantly more powerful in terms of stats.

Of course, because RNG is evil, my level 75+ character still gets normal-tier stats on legendary armor bits...

Mhh 'kay let's see...

Got a .308 bolt action pipe gun sniper named Pepperpot. (forgot what effect it had, never used it)

.308 hunting rifle sniper named Pianbringer (sold)

Current .308 two shot sniper hunting rifle named Sandman.

A combat knife that deals more damage the more hurt you are, Last Chance.

My old original sawed off shotgun was Boomstick.

My current combat shotgun is Shotty.

My .38 pipe rifle sub machine gun that does extra plasma damage is called Spitfire.

And I named my automatic two shot combat gun AX-45 (a play on AK-47)

EDIT: Ooops how can I forget my .44 Revolver named Suzy.

I took to using the following system (since the rename field is too short):

-RLeg Sturdy CA

The hyphen puts it at the top, the RLeg identifies the body part, Sturdy lets me know the Normal/Sturdy/Heavy type, and CA is for Combat Armor. The actual mods like Shadowed or Deep Pockets you can see when you click on them (and there's no room to add them anyway).

Of course, then I loot a half dozen raiders and I have to painstakingly wade through each piece, de-coding what it is and whether I should give it to a Settler, scrap it, sell it, or mod it and wear it (and rename it).

I think it would be nice if weapons and armor were sorted by type irregardless of name (with a possible bypass if the player names them). That way all the 10mm pistols would be listed together, all the left arm leather armor together, etc.

If I'm sorting out my junk weapon box for a pipe rifle I might miss it because it is with every other gun that has glowing sights.

Each armor set has three different tiers that spawn based on your level. Example: Synth armor, tier one chest piece starts at a 12 defense and can get a bit higher with modding. tier 2 "sturdy" starts at a 25 defense. Tier 3 "heavy" starts at a 37 defense. With absolutely no mods on those pieces they say "sturdy" or "heavy." If you add any mods it takes away those words and will just say "happy hardened dancing synth chest piece" You then have to check and compare the stats.. meaning you basically have to memorize or write down the stats for all the armor so you can compare pieces as you find them.

You're not missing out on anything. Modded items spawn as you level and you can just remove them and put them onto your gun or armor. Without taking any modding at all I already have all the weapon mods available for the guns I'm using. I can freely remove and replace any of those mods even if I don't have a science 3 perk or whatever. . The great thing about modded armor is you can freely rip the mods off any of them to use in any other armor of the same variety. The bad thing about guns is that you actually have to build them down to remove the mods.

Even when renaming weapons it doesnt solve the issue of not knowing what base gun you are looting off a corpse some times.

Although once you play longer you really dont need to know what type of gun it is. Just how much its worth/weighs.
