Borderlands was an RPG with guns, Brink is an FPS with leveling. On the surface they may seem similar, but to me its a huge difference. One of the biggest ways to tell is that bullets fire randomly within their (fairly large) hitbox, even on a first shot. RPGs do this to make the game more about positioning, pre-planned strategy, and skill management. FPSs are intended to be a lot of real-time strategy and hand-eye skill.
To me it only reminds me of borderlands in the art style and maybe a little bit how the guns work.
Feels like a threesome with borderlands, TF2, APB and mirror's edge. With BL like Art style, TF2 like RPG gameplay elements, APB customization and mirror's edge like parkour. Take that, give it developers who are gamers, try to give the community what it wants, you've got an awesome game. Hope it isn't glitch though.
I like the TF2, Borderlands, and Mirror's Edge resemblence.
TF2 for the gameplay. Borderlands for the art style, and of course Mirror's Edge for parkour.
