What is the maximum effective level?

Post » Fri Dec 11, 2015 2:59 pm

I know fallout 4 has no level cap, but there are a limited number of things to spend perks on.

Has anyone done the math? Asssuming you collect every bobblehead, and factoring in the SPECIAL points you allocate at the start, what level will you be once you've maxed out all SPECIAL stats, and learned every perk?

As enemies re spawn and some quests are repeatable its no maximum level.
You can continue to level after getting special to 10 all the perks.

Only restriction is that the xp demands grow exponential while xp from quests and killing probably stop increasing at some point so you will find it very hard to level up at the end.

50 - 70 seems a good place to me as 50 is what most skills max out at. Saying that I heard some interesting stuff starts happening at lvl 300 with enemies but not sure how true that is.

At Level 264 you have enough points to max every SPECIAL and all levels of every Perk.

I bought the guide and most of the highest version levels of the enemies are around lvl 90. I'm not sure if the enemies continue to scale after that.

The real question is, what's really max? 10 in each SPECIAL... or 11? As far as I know, you can't upgrade a SPECIAL stat to 11 unless the stat is already 10 when you pick up the Bobblehead, which means you can't use them to shore up your SPECIAL for getting perks.

Fully maxed out, with 11 in each SPECIAL and every rank of every perk, would be, yeah, level 264 I think. But as people have said, the game is designed so that the "endgame" is around level 50. Past that is way overkill, you'll be able to breeze through every scenario you come across. If you weren't already at level 50. I'm not even sure enemies scale to your level past that point.

Question for those of you that have gone higher than 50: your health still increases with leveling, right? There was some talk before the game came out that once you hit level 50, your health wouldn't increase through leveling any more.

Depends if you get all the bobbleheads and which perks you consider as "effective" for instance I will never get "idiot savont" cause of the noise it makes that breaks my RP immersion

I've been fighting level 90s I think once they respawn they get a level increase or unless that's just how Survival works...

Depends on if you glitch for unlimited SPECIAL points as well, I don't but some people do. Mainly cause it is hard to time it right with Dogmeat

Good point. What is the level requirement if you start the game with 10 S.P.E.C.I.A.L. :D

For some creatures the game guide simply has a level number and then a + added to it. (Like 65+) That could mean that those certain creatures never reach a true max level.
