hardcoe and Realism

I know. Sorry. Just being a smart a**.

I kind of liked the Frost Fall mod on Skyrim. It added to the realism. You are right that Survival on F4 doesn't do all that much in reality. Would have been nice if they used the same sort they had in FNV. And that's saying something from me since we all know how I feel about FNV. :)

"Role playing is all based on playing a role".

Um... so what was that one role that you've chosen that you had the FREE WILL to become? Remember: I'm role playing as a psychopath FREELY, even though I am NOT A PSYCHOPATH in reality. Role playing at its finest. Of course I should have stated "what you want to become in the game". But still: you are playing somebody you are not. If you are playing as yourself in the game, that role play becomes realism -- you have the same personality you have in the game as you would have in life.

Yes, but that doesn't mean you must be completely free to be anyone or it's not role playing, which is what was suggested.

FONV's hardcoe mode wasn't only the basic needs. It also included slower stimpack healing rate, slower food healing rate, ammo weight, only doctor's bags could heal limbs. I wouldn't say obsidian failed at creating a hardcoe mode but it was't the best either. The only issue i have when people say hardcoe mode is trivial or is just a chore, i say so i settlement building. But at least Beth could make it an option for those who want to play that way. Maybe even make it better.

All of which could easily be filed under "trivial differences [in] play mechanics". I love New Vegas as much as the next guy, but vanilla hardcoe was pretty forgettable.

Whell i personally couldn't play without it. I agree it wasn't "hardcoe" in the sense you had to watch your next step. The problem i personally have is that Beth didn't include it and improved it.

If anyone thinks an eating and sleeping simulator is hardcoe, they should see my life

They are merely counters. Eating and sleeping doesn't necessarily make the game harder, just adds realism. Perhaps more of a challenge to others, yes, but not me.

Some call it chores though. Its funny because we do it every day.

Its not the fact we're comparing FO:NV to FO4. They are similar in their own scenarios. Only... one had more of "this" than "that". FO:NV had more of "this".
