Archive Invalidation Problem?!

Post » Sat Jun 19, 2010 7:01 am

When my archive invalidation is turned on (1) my game crashes. When its turned off (0) my game starts up fine...
I tried it via FOMM, via archive invalidation invalidated and just tried it manualy ^^

Anyone got an answer to this one?!

Hmm sounds like either something got corrupted, or a mod you have in your LO messes up with it for some reason.

Did you change your ini to invalidate old files?

What they asked, plus. Have you added the file locations in the ini file? Some texture replacers require the file location to be designated before you can actually use them. If this is not done then you will get problems.

@Echonite: Yes this is done automaticly with FOMM
@WackaMacka: Where do I do this? In the fallout.ini?

I mean if assuming you had a texture replacer like a nvde mod for example. You read the readme and it will show you something like

"put xxxx file into this space in you ini file- (the location)"

Some other mods ask you to do this too. Weapons mods etc. But mostly the stuff you retexture. Then if you went into your game you did it correctly you would see the new texture. If incorrectly, well it'd an error such as blue/purple skin, or simply invisible. Rarely it will cause a crash. But It could a reason...Just a thought, no direction.

Thinking about it though. I think it depends also on the version of the game you have. Maybe you have a version of your game that is either incompatible(you won't be able to mod at all). Or you are not patched to the latest version.

Tell me the country you are in, the version you have(latest patch is 1.7; Find this under settings on the main screen before you start your game in the lower left corner) and also is it a downloaded version or out of the box version? If downloaded, you won't be able to use mods I think.

I have 1.7 and UK version.
The problem occured firstly with upgrading to FWE 5.0.
Everything was fine before, but now everything is just screwed up pretty much...

Delete/rename your Fallout.ini, start the game and it will automatically create a new one. Then quit, go into FOMM and apply archive invalidation.

Hmmm, well do as Kai says and see if that works. Then if that doesn't check your load order. Fallout3.esm first then your dlc's. Post the load order you are using if the other stuff doesn't work.

Use http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10193 to sort your load order, and also disable DUIF3Extras.esp as it is integrated into FWE 5.0

DUIF3Extras.esp

That shouldnt be there at all.

Did you install the DUI FWE package?
If so, your problem might be possibly that file above, or you dont have DUIa11 installed, but some older version.

DCInteriors_ComboEdition.esm - This should be loaded with the other ESM files. Also, Fellout would probably be better served at the bottom of the order.
