How do Boston AirportPrydwen Sellements Work?

Post » Sat Dec 12, 2015 3:51 am

So just recently found Boston airport appearing as a settlement. Weirdly, on the Supply Lines map, Prydwen also shows up, and when you create a supply line to the airport the map shows a line connecting it to the Prydwen as well. After doing this I have found none of my materials for crafting available at the Prydwen. Does anyone know what the deal is with that? Why does the Prydwen appear on the supply lines map at all if it has nothing to do with them and is not a settlement?

On another note, you cannot plant any crops at the Airport settlement. How am I supposed to feed my settlers? I'm gonna kind of mess around with this place as more of a trade outpost and less a settlement- open shops, crating benches, but skeleton crew and minimal creature comforts as I can't see keeping a stable settler population without feeding them. Unless they eat from surplus food produced at other settlements linked by supply lines, maybe?

How are others dealing with this odd settlement?

You said it, food and water comes though the supplyline. Its a big building area that you have to support with your other settlements.

You also have to send in settlers from other locations since you can't build a recruitment beacon

Interesting....

Conveniently, there is lots of metal to scrap from all those benches, too....

Thanks guys!

You also can't build stores or guard posts (can build turrets though) which makes sense since the Boston Airport is basically just a place for you to build things for the quests The Molecular Level and Liberty Reprimed, which makes sense, since its a Brotherhood base. Don't want random wastelanders just hanging around and getting in the way. You never know, one might be a synth

it seems to be a bug

the supply line on the map goes to Prydwen, but you still get all items on the airport itself

and your provisioner also visits the airport, not prydwen

I assume it is not meant to be a full settlement, only a player home that can be connected to the supply line network.

I hadn't realized that the location would be tied to quests- makes more sense now.

Looks like this might be the spot for my stepped pyramid. With turrets. Missile turrets.

After the quests, you need a bit of room and a lot of power for them, if you go the BoS route.

Yeah, that's what I decided- don't know what the quests are asking for so I'll wait till I do them to build the stepped pyramid. Or whatever is required.

Yes I'm doing Brotherhood.

Also I think considering the floor plan is extra important here because you'll be able to see this settlement from high up while on the Prydwen.

Have to bust out my old Zelda maps, lol!

Or work off of a historic floorplan maybe...
