What I want from DLC

I've been playing a lot since release. Here is what I want to see:

General

  • Quests that can be completed without a lot of fighting. Puzzles, charisma checks, skill checks, etc. Not everything needs to involve killing.
  • Factions that don't involve the Institute. An enemy of the Minutemen, like being able to join the Gunners and turn your settlements into Gunner strongholds.
  • More chances to be the bad guy. Also choices that have consequences, like in Fallout 3.
  • Improvements to inventory management, like give all, take all (category), tag items to keep permanently, etc.
  • More interesting NPC's to interact with that aren't necessarily a quest. The Vault-Tec Rep and Magnolia are good examples. (Magnolia +++)
  • Give companions something to do when they aren't with you. Crafting, guarding, responding to attacks, something.
  • Love being able to paint power armor. Would like to be able to paint, and clean, my regular armor. Put a minuteman flag on my Combat Armor, for example.
  • Be able to designate an armor set, so you can take it off and put it back on all at once.

Settlements (Note: I love this part of the game. Also, I put some of these in a post in a poll thread.)

  • Cats. I have a cat bowl, I want a cat in my house. Two at least, a Ginger and a Tuxedo.
  • Door logic. My house should admit only me. I should be able to limit doors to allow only me or companions.
  • Interior Doors, and walls that fit.
  • Cinderblock walls, concrete floors, and prefab bunkers.
  • Finish the Quonset Hut set so you can acually build one.
  • Repair, or destroy, pre-built structures.
  • Ability to clean up. Weeds, shipping containers at Nordhagen, etc.
  • More things for settlers to do. Repairing buildings, weeding, crafting tables. Make it hard, so if you build a gardening shed and assign settlers to it, they clean up the area, for example. Need level 3 local leader or something. Another one would be to hunt, so everyone could have a nice mole-rat dinner sometime. Or a mortician...
  • Make the Brahmins that move into your settlement a food source. We aren't all vegans.
  • Painting buildings and other structures.
  • More lighting options. The High Tech light set is a start, but they are so ugly, and don't fit with everything else.
  • Being able to rewire the street lights, or make new ones. Maybe a lit pylon?
  • BIG ONE: tags on the settlers for what they are doing. I've sent my farmers off on supply routes so many times. Also, each provisioner needs to be tagged as to which run he is on. I really need to reorganize mine, but it's such a mess I'm afraid to tackle it. Maybe just the ability to rename the settlers? If they can have an inventory, they must have a unique identifier.
  • Make it so you have to ask Preston for a job, instead of him giving you one every time you talk to him. Now, when I turn in a minuteman quest, I sprint away backwards before i "hear" the new one.

Enough for now, I'm sure I will think of more.

I think these are all pretty popular suggestions. I'd be surprised if Bethesda didn't act on some of them.
