Lootable Vehicles?

Post » Fri Dec 11, 2015 5:13 pm

I always thought the 'lootable vehicles' mod for FONV was a no brainer and really wondered why this wasn't already implemented in FO3 and FONV. I feel that all the vehicles should be a container (mostly empty) with occasional appropriate loot in them. I'd think this would be very easy to do...?

Any one else feel this should be no-brainer for this game?

i'm sure this will be a mod if it isn't already (i haven't started modding yet)

(i also wish they at least added a variable color to the motorcycles, they are all the exact same RED 'Lone Wanderer' motorcycle)

Wouldnt cars be like the second most popular things to be raided for parts and whatever otheris small items left in them? Everything but that engine that would be impossible to remove with out tools and well...explosions what did the nv mod include?

I've always thought the Fallout world would be a more interesting place if there were lootable items in cars and trucks, and especially if there were items here and there in some of the many sunken boats. No need to be game-breaking or anything, but I worked at a wrecking yard for while, and you wouldn't believe the things people leave in cars that are headed for the scrap pile.

If anyone ever finds my boat, they are going to find a treasure of suitcases packed with old D&D stuff... :)

this is why i said they'd be mostly empty, but there could be a lot of reasons to randomly find little stashes of loot or occasionally a part that hasn't been looted, and also they can be used as a container by you the player to stash stuff in for whatever reason

is it hard to believe that a car would be used as a temporary shelter by a drifter/scavenger who might occasionally leave lootable stuff behind (jus cuz they left it or cuz they got killed); i'm sure you could come up with 100 other scenarios; they actually did randomly place small containers in some cars this time...so maybe that's as far as they're gonna take it

I dont know man if I left something valuable in a nuclear car I'd make sure any nosy nellies would be eviscerated into pink mist with some pressure sensors and a bomb...or just a few well placed well hid mines then........BOOOOOOOM!!

I personally find it kind of hard to believe that people haven't been able to make basic cars again. I mean, I'm not expecting like rush hour traffic at Diamond City or something, but I don't think it's that out of reach to have some people driving cars around. In terms of the actual Fallout universe, I think they'd have enough use for people to put effort into doing it. It'd make trading/transporting goods easier. Raiders could use them for quick getaways, etc.

It would kind of detract from the post-apocalyptic hopelessness I suppose though.
