I am Done - Rage Quit on the Combat and Dialogue

Post » Sat Dec 12, 2015 12:52 am

Bethseda, I do not want to always be in a firefight.

I am tired of there be like 20 forogers at one little building, with spotlights and turrets, and other crap and no other way that I can see into a building. I am a stealthy mofo, and yes I do kill like about 6 people before getting detected, but that's beside the point. I am tired of 20+ <---okay it feels like this, of firefights.

Firefights ruin the fun of the game for me. Honestly.

I am tired of cut scenes where I am talking to someone and then because the only choices I have is threaten, joke, threaten nicely, or question a threat nicely, I have five people all shooting at me at once the dialogue is over. How is that fair for me?

Also, what's the point of giving me options when they don't matter?

Spoiler
The Piper Interview quest was [censored] [censored]e. All right, why give me the four options of, No one, just family, why does it matter, and saun. When in the end none of those answer mattter. I ran through the three options and Piper did not accept any of the three options. Make them Charisma checks, but I wanted to play the character off as aloof with that fact. Why force one answer? Why even have a [censored] four option system when.....three of my answers were completely ignored. gaaaaah euigbwg74r789wg487g

So I fast travelled to Revere Station and something similar happened to me. I was basically ambushed on all sides by raiders. They didn't really stand a chance, though. The toughest bit was taking out all the dudes I couldn't see in the building. So I just started lobbing grenades into the windows above me. Hearing raiders scream OH [censored] was one of the most authentic, organic pieces of combat that I experienced in any game.

I can understand that not being able to see your target is frustrating, but it's just as satisfying to kill them without even looking too. :)

Except the PS4, will crash eventually and the more saves you have the slower the frames are.

Stealth takes some tactics this time around.. which is awesome I think. Take a shot, move position.. wait patiently.. repeat. Don't just sit there and let yourself be found. Also, mines are your friends. When you see "Caution" that means enemies are searching for you.. they will go to where you last fired. Place mines where you are.. take a shot, move. Perhaps a raider will trip that mine. (they can also spot mines now so you have to hide them a bit carefully.)

I do understand what you are saying about that Forged scene. You are loaded into the middle of a cutscene against very powerful enemies. If you've been playing stealth and not doing anything with Endurance this makes it doubly hard. (Also realize that areas are leveled.. if you can't complete something now, come back and do it later.)

How I did that Forged thingy. Immediately after conversation I jumped over railing to bottom area, crouched and then used a stealth boy, stimpack to heal that initial damage and took some buffjet and buffout. Time is now on my side.. I kept taking buffjet.. got addicted.. didn't care.. Time fly's when you're having fun.

Tip: Remember some drugs stack. You can basically make yourself invincible with drugs to get past any situation.

Also, have no idea what your agility is at but if you plan on being sneaky you need really high agility... the stealth perks alone won't cut it. My sniper currently has 11 Perception, (13 at night.) and 10 Agility. I have a 2 endurance. (at some point I'm going to raise that because I want aquagirl,,, just to swim about in the ocean and see what's there.)

Actually, there's been at least two entrances in every location for me unless it's something specific like an underground bunker. Even then, the inner maps do support stealth enough with winding paths and such.

I am level 20, but I balance my SPECIALS and PERKs. I think my agility is at 10, and my endurance is 11 right now.

The special perks don't matter as much as the perks underneath them do...lvl 20 is a tough lvl to be at..if you're struggling against enemies try the weapon damaging boost perks or at least the defense boosting perk...if nothing else there's no shame in running away from a fight you can't win..

Yeah man, retreat, regroup, and take them on again on your terms. You can outrun them, the AI is still stupid enough that once you are out of sight, you are out of mind. The sneak isn't like invisibility like in prior games.

War and terror around the world; millions starving; poverty and corruption rampant; and people have enough of an issue with a video game to "rage" on a few things they don't like. What the hell is wrong with people today? :(

Your point? I understand being unhappy with a product but to act like your world has fallen apart and say you "rage quit" a video game because of minor things seems absolutely ridiculous. The OP needs to find something else to put all that emotion towards.

Fallout 4 isn't perfect and no product is. It isn't worth getting all worked up over though.

It was a bout of gamer frustration as I want to murder punch my television. People should be allowed the ability to express their emotions freely on any medium. No matter what happens in the world, we should be allowed that ability to express. It is silly to vent about a game, but we all have those moments and will want to share them with other people alike.

I hate the combat in this game. At least you could adjust the camera in Third person while aiming in New Vegas. Why the hell would gamesas not take the one thing from New Vegas that made 3rd person combat bearable and implement it into their game?

Because they sure as hell didn't learn from Uncharted or Gears of war when it comes to contextual cover based shooting while in third person, even though the NPCs do it all the TIME.

You have a fair point and are entitled to your venting! ... When I buy a game and hate it I usually just stick it in a shelf and move on though.

Fallout 4 has issues but its still fun! Things will get better and the next TES will surely build on fallout 4.

I must admit I didn't like the quest at the bar in Diamond City that basically railroads you into either murdering the bar tender or going and murdering a bunch of non hostiles.

But I think to write off the whole game because of one or two issues is a bit silly.

Where did this misconception come from that I write off the whole game?

I still love some of the many things. But at this moment I am done playing the game, till I go back to beat it.

Icedrake I don't get why you're even saying anything, (dont read it like im yelling and [censored]y, seriously asking). This is a place to [censored] about things in the game, discuss dlc/mod ideas, or talk about lore and what not. But you where here to complain about the fact that someone has a problem with something, it doesn't matter what it is, complaining is what this site is for.

I just think ragequitting over small things is silly. Everyone can do whatever they want. I am here on the forums to discuss the game and because I playing it. If I quit something I wouldn't keep going to the forums to rage. It's like a X Gf... You can't have a booty call with her because it just complicates things; you have to cut it off entirely or it will drive you nuts :).. same thing goes with games leave them and never come back unless the issues are fixed 100%

But I never said that I hated the game so much I was going to stop playing the game forever. See you're adding dramatics where there weren't. I am just currently done because I am angry at the game, not because I hate it.
