Do you like Explosions?

So what is your opinion on explosions in this game?

I would love to see more different animations, but otherwise I think explosions are quite good. They add that something extra to this beautiful game.

The explosions are great fun! I think they did an excellent job of that. In F3 it made you think twice about using the cars for cover. In F4 catching a flash of light followed by a distant hum makes you want to investigate the situation. I recall the wrecked cars in New vegas didn't explode at all which was very disappointing. Hearing gun fire & explosions in F4 makes the game feel alive with activity, which is important to me.

I don't trust people that don't like big explosions... It's just weird...

aside from the artillery delay and no crafting of nuka grenades. Plasma grenades dont scale with the explosives perk so they end up being equal to frags. Splash damage is a bit close but that may be the extra aoe radius effect. Explodable enemies splatter into a good amount of pieces.

I named my explosive sniper rifle "Mr. Torgue's Boomstick".

Yup, I like the explosions, even if 3 of my roughly 8 deaths have been caused by them.

Buuuut.. I think maybe the cars go boom too quickly...

There I was, sneaking through the city somewhere, can't remember where, doesn't matter anyway.

I was approaching an area that I fully expected to be crawling with raiders, so I was being ultra careful, crouch-walking, moving really slowly, 'Old Snipey' at the ready.

Mistake number one - I was crawling around a car using it as cover.

Mistake number two - I wasn't watching the ground.

Click! Buzzzzz - the unmistakable sound of a frag mine getting ready to blow.

I panicked, turned around and proceeded like an idiot to crawl away, as if that would help.

BOOM! Frag mine goes off and cripples me.

Car starts to burn...

Oh crap! Time to get the hell outta here, now totally bricking it in panic.

But, like I said I'm a total idiot, so now I'm crouching, crawling and crippled, desperately pressing keys to try and uncrouch, switch to run and simultaneously stab myself with a stimpack.

Too many tasks for my wee brain to handle at the same time, so I did none of them successfully.

BOOM! Car explodes about three inches from my left ear.

I spin majestically through the air, dead as can be.

Sigh.

Burst out laughing.

Quickload.

Now, where was that friggin' frag mine hiding?

There is nothing better than to watch a row of cars explode into a huge mushroom cloud!!!!!!!! I live for those moments and was even tempted to set off a chain reaction explosion in a parking garage... I stopped myself though! LOL

I remember, when I first started to play Fallout 3 (my first game in the series), I was taking cover behind a bus... after that thing exploded and killed me, I made a mental note... Don't hide behind vehicles! LOL

I try to make everything go boom whenever the mood strikes me.

I miss perks that allowed energy weapon explosions though like Meltdown did in New Vegas. Would be nice to see return.
