Deformities?

Post » Sat Dec 12, 2015 2:15 pm

Why aren't these in the game? It makes sense that a few normal people would be walking around but have you seen what radiation does to people irl? You could say we have ghouls but that still doesn't explain why we've yet to see 3 eyed people, hunchbacks, 3 armed folks with only 2 fingers. And the population should be scarce, you'd think there would of been inbreeding eventually. If it happens in modern times itd hell of a lot more frequent in the wasteland. Where are all these 6 [censored] hills have eyes walking with a club foot people at!?

Well the ghouls are disfigured & mutants are sort of deformed. Brahmin have 2 heads but no characters with a melted face in game.

I did mention ghouls, and super mutants are fev related not true mutants but scientific creations. You cant be born a super mutant or a ghoul so they dont count. I remember Fallout 3 had freaks in a DLC, thats what I want, that type o stuff

Yes I quite agree. Those hillbillies in point lookout were freaky & creepy. I think your idea fits well into the realm of Fallout. Some could even be dragging a huge axe or sledge hammer. If I recall they were quite hardcoe & hard to kill. Maybe a modder will create the Hillbilly edition for F4. I'd be up for that :tops:

I want to be able to interact with em too. Merchants, scavvers, all types. Im suprised weve seen no super mutant trader, smart, hidden in a cloak to not scare people.

Perhaps, in all seriousness, Beth would rather not portray people with such conditions as hideous, monstrous or defective. Not very 2015.

Wouldn't it be more humanizing though? I mean I dont want just enemies but npcs and companions and such that show the effects of radiation human dna long after war. Just look at hiroshima and nagasaki. People are still to this day born with defects due to genetic tissue caused by the radiation exposure to parents

It would be more humanizing to have shopkeepers, farmers and companions displaying such effects. Freaky, creepy inbred hillbillies dragging giant sledgehammers, not so much.

I want both. Because realistically both would exist. After we're talking about people, and people can be good or evil

In the frightful, fearful world of Fallout, such mutations would likely be done away with at birth. Mutation = evil, in those harsh times. Anyone who survived childhood with such a condition would likely be a loner and killed on sight by other humans out of fear and disgust.

That's why I referenced The Chrysalids up there.
