An Evil Side would have been nice...

Anyone else wish they could have joined the gunners or the raiders and killed the other factions off not because they're bad, but because they have good loot? The game was amazing, but I'm just saying, some more options would have not hurt... the game actually felt a little unfinished in that neither of these factions had any depth at all. Why do raiders and gunners want to kill you just for existing? How the hell does anyone get anywhere in the wasteland if that's how these groups behave? The only thing we learn about the gunners all game is from an easily miss-able dialogue from Nick stating that they're a mercenary group. Raiders we don't learn a thing. There were a few named raiders in the south of the map that had potential for cool lore and stories, but nope, you just kill them.

I think they wanted the game to be mostly "shades of grey" (no, not that) so the really good guys and really bad guys seem to be off to the side more or less.

You have Institute for your evil side :P Though getting to work with raiders or gunners like you would for Powder Gangers or the Great Khans would be nice. Not a major decides-the-fate-of-the-commonwealth sort of thing, but they Are people.

There is still hope with the DLCs. Although, being able to reform a faction from within (for better or worse) wold be even better.

But it honestly is not shades of gray. When your character sounds like a goody too shoe I'll help anyone

Gunner's were the missed opportunity for me. I always thought raiders=orcs... And you gotta have orcs. But Gunners, I walk up to talk, guns. Why the hostility?

They are not more evil as other Factions.

Mama Murphy said once to me: The Faction you choose may not have the best Way but at the End its the best for the Mankind.

(Where is the damn Spoiler Function?)

Yes, the "shades of grey" in this game range from chalk to Apple-white.

The "evil" Institute ending didn't even feel that evil to me. The most evil one was probably the Brotherhood, but I still like them even though most of them are [censored]s. The ultimate goody two shoes ending is the Minuteman ending.

I think because the SS come from prewar age so it's kinda hard to joint raiders or gunners. None of two aim to dominate the whole Commonwealth. If the protagonist had a different background things might've differentl.

Dunno, the Gunners have a really tight chain of command. Even if it's not a main faction, the pc could see them as siply a way to survive in the tough wastes. We already do all sorts od violence at the beck and call of others. Joining Gunners wouldn't change that.

Could have a storyline where he finds out they're too extreme, and he evwntually has to fight his way out from deep within Gunner territory after a disagreement :o
