Why wont companions go back to their original homes?

Why am I not able to send Piper back to her home in Diamond City? I read something elsewhere that it had something to do with a glitch were if you send a companion to a settlement it'll automatically make that settlement their default home. I find it odd that gamesas couldnt just add an option to send followers back to their default location, like how hard can it be to add something so simple? I been enjoying this game so far but it's small stupid [censored] like this that piles up and adds toward the negative factor of this game, and knowing Bethesda it'll probably never get patched either.

P.S. Nat will never see her older sister again :nope: .

Yep.. same thing almost happened to me.

If you simply back out of the "send them here" dialogue they'll stay at their original location even if you've used them as a companion. But that only works if you've never sent them anywhere before. I only found that out because of Piper.. When it gave me the options of where to send her I was like. "That's stupid, why would I want to take her away from her sister?" So I simply backed out of the conversation.. I got a pop up notice, "Piper returning to Diamond City." From then on I left most companions where I found them.

All major townships should be areas where you can send companions as well. .. or at the very least have Pipers sister go to the settlement that you send Piper.. It makes no sense that she'd just up and leave a little girl to take care of herself. Does nobody at Bethesda have children? Kids often get the short end of the stick in their games.
