The UESP article is being cute. The Elder Scrolls prophesy events. Events invariably involve heroes.

The UESP article is also wrong. If there were no scrolls it wouldn't be necessary to invent them. Unless you go for the whole metafictional thing that the entire world is written on a scroll, as opposed to being artifacts of the world. In which case, you're being cute again.

"Each event is preceded by Prophecy. But without the hero, there is no Event."

Ahhh. That feels good to finally say first...

Yes, yes, the rite of passage. Now hold still while I employ this laser cannon in my attempt to eradicate the practice.

Hell, you can do whatever you want to it now, lol. I just wanted to say it once when it was relevant. I can now die in peace...

Speaking of only the PC heroes...

The only connection I see is that, officially, nothing is known. They're all shrouded figures.

And for some reason they are all connected to Uriel Septim.

The reason The Elder Scrolls and the Heroes are interdependent is that without Heroes, there would be no market for The Elder Scrolls, and without The Elder Scrolls, it'd be kind of hard to play the game and be a Hero. :P

Nah he is just in a state of un-life.

I reckon that we haven't seen the last of Uriel or Martin for that matter, prehaps the will become reincarnate?

Heh...imagine a TES game where you are the emperor!

no offense, but that'd be really lame. lets have us a new emperor, or even better no emperor at all.

Cyrus had nothing to do with Uriel, if he counts...

From what I've seen and read, it seems like the Empire is pretty screwed, concerning both an heir AND the state of the Empire itself. Yep: Tamriel is pretty screwed in that respect.

If they, for some random ass reason, ever hold an election, I'd vote for Fargoth...

If each Elder Scrolls has a hero as a scribe, imagine all the heroes there would be. Just look at the Library of Elder Scrolls in the Imperial Palace. Thats not a small ammount of Elder Scrolls right there.

Cyrus killed the Emperor. He was the Hoon Ding. (According to Vehk)

edit: Of course the Emperor he killed was not Uriel but his ancestor, but he killed Uriel's blood. Supposedly. Metaphorically.

The Elder Scrolls V: An Empire in Ruin

How many times do the Elder Scrolls come up in game? As far as I know, only Oblivion does it. Once.

As in make an appearance? Only Oblivion. And Arena might too, but who takes notice of Arena? I think it wouldn't be unlikely that when the decoded package in Morrowind talks about the emperor consulting with "his most expert informants and confidants", he might be talking about Moth Priests and Scrolls.

I think there's also implication that each game is itself an Elder Scroll about the actions of a hero, hence the the title. Except Morrowind, which was, in fact, "a linguist- launch cell from the last Shipstar, ex-Engine'd, made by the hands of beautiful people." Yeah.

he didn't even do that, he just killed Admiral Richton. The point was that Cyrus has no direct connection to Uriel Septim (to counter Apophis), short of metaphor.

The prophecies of the Elder Scrolls fortell the heroes; the Heroes are those who are mentioned in the Elder Scrolls.

Being heroic, it seems, is not enough to be a Hero.
