Can't Create an Account on Nexus (IE-9)

Post » Mon Dec 14, 2015 9:27 am

I hope to be moving to playing Skyrim on PC in the very near future after playing it since release on Xbox. While I'm waiting, I obviously need to dip my toe in modland--i.e., Nexus. :P

The problem is that I'm trying to create an account on Nexus and the "Create Account" links there all result in IE giving me "Cannot Display Web Page" errors. Does anyone know if there's certain browser security settings or what not that Nexus requires? I couldn't find anything on the Help link and Support just asks me to fill out a support ticket. Really, Nexus, no Support or Help with common problems or FAQ?

Sigh...anyway, anyone have any ideas?

I think this would be better in the PC sub-forum. You might get a better response than what I can give.

I found a couple references, ( both over a yr old) but they had hot.mail emails and ended up having to make a Gmail or Yahoo account for the email to get the registration to go through. Their was also a mention in one place about registration being full, but that also was over a yr old and I know they "fixed" that.

I know I had a bit of problems, but that was 3 yrs ago and I don't remember what I did. The validation email can take some time getting their...AND look in your spam folder, cause some have reported that.

I don't know if that helps any...if not, ask a Moderator to move the thread to the PC sub-forum... as their are many more pc savey soul's there.

I would bet that the Nexus is overloaded right now with people trying to look for Fallout 4 mods. The same thing happened when Skyrim was new.

Try a different browser? IE9 is ancient and doesn't support the latest protocols. Its also vunerable.

I suggest that you try to use http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?app=nexus&module=support§ion=new first before doing anything else, but if that doesn't help then send a PM to http://www.gamesas.com/user/2078-dark0ne/ on BSF. :)

Yep, that is correct. I'm working on getting a new PC (one that'll play Skyrim), but my current OS (Vista--Yuck!) doesn't support anything higher than IE9.

However, I installed PaleMoon and registering worked just find on Nexus.

Thank you everyone for the input.
