Stories of the Wastelands

I really like the little random battles and weirdos you run into in the wastelands. Recently I saw a guy being chased by 3 raiders so I sprinted towards them. The guy turned out to be a settler. I'm guessing he was trying to get away from being kidnapped. As soon as I reach the settler he turns and starts shooting and the raiders returned fire. I turn and sprinted towards one one of the raiders and jabbed him with the bayonet on my rifle killing him and the other two raiders run away at a full sprint. I just started laughing.

Anyone else have any weird random stuff like this happen? Lets hear your stories!

Yesterday, Paladin Danse and I came across a 200 year old kid that was stuck in a fridge for all that time (a ghoul kid).

He was scared and wanted to go home. So, of course, I said sure kid, we'll take you home. I was afraid that Danse would go ballistic, since the BoS doesn't like "mutants". But OMG, I think I love him even more now! He said something along the lines of: Bringing a kid with us, is a bad decision, strategically, BUT we can't just leave him here. And then he liked that I offered to take the kid home. On the way there, we had to fight off some raiders and then a Gunner guy offered to buy the kid from me! I was like NEVER. We made it to his home and reunited him with his parents. It was a wonderful moment. Then the gunner guy shows back up and wants to buy the whole family. I told him that nobody was home and he left! LOL

There are also a lot of sad moments that you can come across.

Like the Gentlemen Club, where the members drank poisoned wine to escape the nuclear war.

Or that guy who build a fallout shelter behind his house for his 2 kids and wife, but there were some issues with the generator that would seal the trapdoor shut. When you activate the generator and go down there, you find the skeletons of the man and his wife in an embrace and the graves of his 2 kids. :( Danse only commented on the bad smell down there... lol

"Help! they got her! They are going to kill her! Please you have to help!" pleaded a settler outside a hardware store.

McCready and I looked at each other and instantly thought "Yup, a trap"

We sprung it anyway which was pretty fun.

Zombie Kid in a Fridge is a fun one, how the hell he stayed sane in a fridge for 200 years I dont know. Looking forward to redoing that one as a bad character.

Is there any one that didn't figure out it was a trap? Other than the basemant full of dead settlers.
