[Italian Localization] debatable adaptation NPCs name REPORT

Post » Wed Dec 16, 2015 8:50 am

Playing the italian version of the game, it's easy to encounter NPCs zone main bosses with a fully translated name in italian, yet their reference terminals or documents still mantain the original english name, all of this is very confusing and disappointing because it really ruins the gameplay experience.

For example on LIBERTALIA base ship there is a raider captain guy named "FILO" (that properly translates in "Wire" in english) but when you find his terminal in his quarters the name on it it's the original english one "WIRE" while it should logically be "FILO".
Of course this is very misleading and makes absolutely no logic sense.
And there are many many other translated NPCs names in the game world, that are not properly associated to their terminals and documents names.
I would like you to take this as a serious issue and address it to the team that takes care of the translation, not only for Fallout 4 but also for next productions. Either leave the original english NPCs names or fully translates also their reference items please!

It may seems a minor problem but it is not, this a poor choice of adaptation or clearly a bad communication between the team that translates the texts of items and the team that translates NPCs names.

PLEASE BETHESDA TAKE THIS MATTER SERIOUSLY and let the localization teams know about this, I understand it's a colossal work... but they need to know this problems to offer a better service for all of the foreign community that pays for your products a full price :)

Thanks for your attention, I wish you all good work.

I agree with you, that localization of games is usually sub-par, however you need to contact the devs through other means, as they don't (AFAIK) visit the forums. Maybe a moderator can notify one of the community managers in regards to this. I would start by PMing a moderator.

I would file a complaint via the official support site.
