Strong is hard to please

Post » Wed Dec 16, 2015 8:31 am

So for giggles I thought I would bring Strong as a companion for a bit. My character is kind of a brutish power house and he seemed like a nice fit.

But...

He dislikes it when I steal, use chems, threaten or bribe people. He dislikes it when I use power armor. He dislikes it when I pick a lock.

What does it take to please this guy? I'm going to ditch him in Hangman's Alley... At least Cait appreciates my behavior.

He wants you to be yourself (Can't lie), he dislike stealing and picklocking because everything is shared, there is no concept of ownership with him. Basically, act like you own everything, threaten and attack people, dislike synth and ghouls, speak positive of supermutants, etc.

I think you can max his affection by just exploring and killing people.

Because of those things, he's basically the worst possible fit for my sneaky-but-charismatic good-guy lockpicking sniper character. After about 5 "dislikes" in the first hour of travel, I sent him back to my companions retreat in Covenant and likely won't be using him again.

Btw, I read that the easiest way to max is his affection is to take the cannibal perk, kill a bunch of Raiders, and then start eating them. Eat one, quicksave, reload, repeat. (The quicksaving resets the cooldown on the timer preventing "likes" for the same action.)

However, that's an End 8 perk...My End is 3. Pass. Might work for a "brutish" character though.

Just use him as a meat-shield and go 'bout your business killing people. The body count will win his affection eventually and get you his perk.

Strong basically fits in which a high strength/ high endurance melee build character. As far as I know the only regular thing you can do that gets him to like you (similar to hacking for Valentine or lock picking for Piper) is if you have the cannibal perk and eat corpses, or you kill a lot of people.

I don't use him since he doesn't fit in with the build I like.

Just put him with Preston, all those endless quests he gives you will max out your affinity with him, Strong likes it when you accept quests from others when they ask you. Don't ask for quests that is not the same thing. It's a dominance thing, they're coming to you for help and you can chose not to help them that's why he likes it, and Preston always needs your help.
