How Would You Rank Them?

Post » Fri Dec 18, 2015 4:10 am

Since I first had my PS3 I've been a huge fan of Bethesda's output, I've put hundreds of hours into titles including Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Skyrim. I'm getting Fallout 4 for christmas and I've been thinking about how other people, in particular people who have played Fallout 4 and the other Bethesda games I have mentioned, would rank them? For me, not having played Fallout 4:

1. Skyrim

2. Fallout 3

3. Oblivion

4. New Vegas

I've included New Vegas as I also put near to a hundred hours into this one too and enjoyed it for the most part.

It would be interesting to see how other people would rank these games. Cheers!

Fallout New Vegas>Fallout 4>Fallout 3

Never played Oblivion so I can't comment on it

Hard to do with Fallout 4 not having any DLC out. All the other games have been out for years and gotten their content.

As mentioned, lack of DLC makes it difficult, but in my view:

Skyrim

FO4 (?)

FO3

FNV

Oblivion

For me (so far, haven't completed the MQ yet, 215 hours in lol) it is:

Fallout: New Vegas

Fallout 4

Skyrim

Fallout 3

Oblivion

Obviously, as others have said, once Fallout 4's DLC comes along things may change.

I have 800 hours in Skyrim. I'd put it at the bottom of the list myself. I have several thousand in ESO, a much better game.

Fallout 3 is the metric for modern Fallout games and is wonderful. I have a seriously modded version I play on occasion. NV is different and as good I would say. I'd put Fallout 4 above both but not by a lot. Morrowind is the trickest single player TES game, but probably too complicated for modern tastes.

Stalker stands head and shoulders above all other single player shooters, but it's too hard for you. ™

  1. FONV (not bad, but hate the crappy "go through this gate and it's another world" crap), Skyrim (perfect... after installing many mods which includes "Frostfall" and "Realistic Needs and Diseases")
  2. FO4 (because of crappy story and crappier/disrespectful/forgetful NPCs)
  3. Oblivion, FO3

I would say New Vegas, Skyrim, Oblivion, Fallout 3. That was how absorbing I found them at the time. But I spent the most time in Skyrim by far.

Of the ones the OP listed -

1. Skyrim

2. Fallout 3

3. New Vegas

4. Oblivion

Too early to tell of Fallout 4 as I only have 70 hours in game, and there will be Morrowind in the list as well. :)

1. Daggerfall

2. Morrowind

3. Skyrim

4. Oblivion

5. Arena

I don't do the Fallouts, not that fond of gun-based video games.

1. Fallout New Vegas

2. Morrowind (put most hours into by far but i like the quest structures of new vegas better)

3. Oblivion

4. Skyrim (3 and 4 are very close i would almost give them a tie)

5. Fallout 3

6. Fallout 4 (i havent put many hours into it, but so far it's very underwhelming for me personally)

1. Morrowind (exploration, amazing lore, world and atmosphere)

2. FONV (writing and quest design)

3. Skyrim (exploration)

4. FO3

5. Oblivion

6. FO4 (best action/shooter combat to date from BGS, but I'm not sure that I'll get many hours out of it)

I have many more hours in Oblivion than FO3, so maybe they should switch places, but I felt that Oblivion needed a lot of mods to be worth putting in those hours.
