two questions **SPOILERS**

Post » Sat Dec 19, 2015 7:49 am

Hi guys,

i have a couple of questions, mind you that im not very far in the game because i take my time and i like to make settlements. Im going to ask some questions which i really like an answer too but will contain spoilers, so if you dont want to spoil anything dont read this post!

1) I have a couple of settlements going in which my settlers farm, but two of my settlers look weird. They look like they have heavy burnwounds and dont look like normal humans, are they synths? Maybe I can spot them because i have high perception or whatever?

2) What does legendary armor do to my perks? I understand that it gives you bonusses, like extra agility or whatever. When i wear them and check my stats, i do see an increase in lets say agility, but this increase does not mean i can chose the perks that are connected to this level of agility. For example my base agility is 4, i wear armor which gives me +1 agility so my new agility is 5, however i can not chose the perk that belongs to agility 5, so why would i wear this armor? What is the effect?

3) My most important question: I am a minutemen General, hooooorrrraaaaaa!! I use my settlers as farmers and security. Live is hard at the farm and i treat my settlers like my property, so either obay or be executed. Yes this game brings out the worst in me and i totally become a ruthless dictator. I hate synths, super mutants and the Institute, so i decided to join the Brotherhood of Steel. I have a save before i joined i just wanted to know what the major implications are for joining the BOS and if i have made a stupid move? Try not to spoil to much im just trying to figure out what the effects are for me, my settlements and future missions and factions.

4) Why cant i kill a settler? If i want to execute 1 all the others attack me? Why? I am their leader! And why cant i kill the Brahmin in my base? Again, if i shoot it my settlers attack me

Thanks in advance for the help!

I believe one of the sticky posts specifically say not to post spoilers to this board....

Two things. Did you not see the all caps post title in the sticks that says DO NOT POST SPOILERS IN THIS BOARD! and did you also not see there is an entire section where you can freely post anything that has spoilers in it called Fallout 4 Cheats, Spoilers, Hints? You specifically knew there would be spoilers and even put it in your title. Please use a little common sense next time and post in the correct board.

There aren't even really any spoilers in this post.

1. Those are ghouls. There are ghouls, and there are feral ghouls. The ghouls can be settlers, companions, and random people that you meet along the way. Some of them are enemies. Feral ghouls are always your enemy. Well...there's an upper level perk that makes this not always the case, but I haven't gotten that one yet. It's low on my list.

2. Those armor pieces and other various clothing pieces give you a boost to your base stat while equipped, but they don't let you pick a new perk to apply. Say your base strength is at 3 and you have a piece of armor that increases strength by 1. This means that your strength while that piece of armor is equipped will be 4. This means you can carry more weight, melee attacks will cause more damage, and so on. The only way to get the other perks aside from SPECIAL (the top row of the perks chart) though is by leveling up and applying the perk points to whichever perks you choose.

3. You'll meet 4 factions along the way. The Minutemen, the Brotherhood of Steel, the Railroad, and the Institute. Joining all four of these factions is an option, and you should join all four of them if you want to get the most out of the game. There will come a point in the game (and they'll be sure to let you know when you're at that point) that you'll have to decide where your allegiances lie. Until that point though, there are a ton of quests that you can only access by joining the various factions.

4. If you were living in a community and someone went nuts with a gun, would you just say "oh well" and go back to tending your crops? If you want to get rid of a specific settler, open the workshop and highlight them. You can send them to a different settlement or (with the Local Leader perk) use them to establish a supply line.

The Brotherhood of Steel is my favorite faction as well. Ad Victoriam, brother.

Turn a settler into a provisioner. The moment they leave the settlement, you can give them a terminal case of shotgun to the face.

First of all, before I tease you, in case nobody has said it yet, welcome to the forums!

Now for teasing!

And you were just bragging about your high perception.

Non-feral ghouls are not bad people. They are often quite old (some pre-War, even) and can be very useful citizens. That said, a lot of Wastelanders are pretty prejudiced against them. Don't go to the Slog if you don't care for ghouls, I will say (well, unless you want to purge them and repopulate it with 'normal' citizens - the base itself is quite nice).

If your character is prejudiced against non-humans in general, even if they're benevolent, then yeah feel free to get rid of the ghouls. Ya big jerk.

And if you really wanted to, you could send all of your unwanted settlers to a different settlement far away and then just execute everyone there. I don't think the other settlements will aggro on you for that, but keep a backup save and check just to be sure.

1. Ghouls, already answered. You can get rid of them if you want. They are still human in my eyes, just very badly irradiated. But it is your game, you can do anything you want with them, but they are treated the same as any settler in game.

2. They will raise your stats. It won't let you unlock perks because that would be game breaking, considering that with the right combination of clothes you can get +5 on some stats. The reason to wear them is because the stats do stuff apart from unlocking perks.

3. It is a viable choice to join all factions. Joining any particular one is not stupid from a gameplay point of view.

4. The decided to make you leader because they thought you would help them. They didn't all sit down and agree to be your completely obedient and willing slaves for you to do with as you please. I am surprised you even had to ask why does everyone get annoyed when I start to shoot up their farm and execute them.
