As vain as we players are...

Post » Sat Dec 19, 2015 12:54 pm

Why hasn't beth added dance emotes and show offy stuff... I know, I know mods etc. etc. But us console players dont get these things and PS4 might never if Beth doesn't seal the deal. We of the Beth gamers are 1) Vein as hell 2) love screenshots 3) making "look at my purdy/epic toon vids 4) some of us want to see Piper/Curie/Cait dance. Wish we still had a place like Gomorrah. You should expand on Goodneighbor.

From use of "toon" to dancing with blue hair... :sadvaultboy:

Sounds like a future Garry's Mod fad, though.

I used toon because im on PS and writing Characters with controller over n over gets annoying. As for Blue hair I love raves/techno. Its more of a cyberpunk thing. Id just like my SS to look like me. Already have the hair (though we could use more) ooo Body tattoos would be nice. With more sleeveless and topless options (its 2015 goin 2016 women can go topless too) and piercings also. Its the little details that go a long way. Also anyone else feel like whoever designed the mechanics overalls has never seen a proper jumpsuit? The look more like Jetsons knock offs

I looked through a bit of the animation stuff, and I remember this one (pretty sure I got the name right). Console command;

player.playidle IdleMagnoliaSong05

Be sure to be in third person mode, or better yet freecame (tfc) mode. There are a handful of dance animations already in the game like that. Fear not though, mods will deliver every hairstyle, hair color, body modification, and animation (dance, combat, or ...lewd action) you could ever want. Unless you're on console. Then you'll get whatever the your Ministry of Mod Approval (MoMA) deigns to bestow upon the squalid masses.

Additionally, you can list a bunch of animations (and other unrelated stuff) with: help "IDLE" 4

Try a different number at the end if that doesn't work right. I never remember which which number does what...

Look for all the entries starting with 'IDLE: ' and pgup/pgdwn button to scroll the massive list. Not all of those work on normal characters though. Some are intended for creatures or more heavily scripted cutscenes and just don't play on the player or targetted NPCs. I haven't spent a huge amount of time trawling the list, so no doubt there are some other great animations in there. More skilled individuals will poke around and deliver a full list of useful animations we can use. Watch the wikis.

What's wrong with the word "toon"?

To me, toon, alt, and character are all the same.

Sarcasm aside. Not asking for every whim but every single game it seems like we have to wait for mods just for these simple things. It svcks for console players specially. It'd certainly add more immersion to be able adjust your idles. They could even have presets based on personality. Tough/passive/shy/charismatic/wild/depressive. Npcs then would have more personality than just [censored]y and moody

Simple things that are already in the game mind you.

Its not like the mods have to go into custom animations.

FO3/FNV had crazy hair color as well. Perhaps limit it to post war Barbers, so you can't start with super crazy hair (for whatever reason)

I think the reason we don't have the crazy hair colors is because in the previous two games, we had the RGB sliders for hair color along with presets. Now we just have the presets.

yeah, and they also make it a bit more difficult to see yourself from the front while doing cool stuff unless it's by finishing moves or VATS unlike older games. More vanity options are always welcome. Stuff like seeing yourself sleeping and eating, using the same iddles as the NPCs and other stuff. All of this can also improve the game content if you put it as unlockable content that you have to find.
