Do I need to explain myself?
Do I need to explain myself?
Some deeper thought on your idea would be helpful, yes.
Main Quest or Side Quest DLC
Travis Miles is clearly a pivotal character in the Commonwealth. Despite having extreme anxiety he singularly commands the Commonwealth airwaves with the ubiquitous Diamond Radio. After undergoing his transformation, it is clear that Travis' evolution is not fully complete as he is still adapting to his newfound confidence.
Unraveling his past to understand where his anxiety originated from as well as detailing his future journeys with his newfound confidence would serve as a great base for quality and personable storytelling not to mention more Travis. Is Travis destined to be a DJ forever? What will become of him and Scarlett in the dangerous wasteland? Is there more to Travis then we really know?
Agreed, but I'm not a huge Blink fan. I'm a Sunny Day Real Estate kinda guy.
Travis vs Three Dog DLC. Each one is a faction that you have to join.
Scarlett tells you that it didn't work out between her and Travis, so that answers that question.
I prefer DLCs that take you to new places w/ new characters, but that is just me.
I'd rather see DLC based on Ellie and Nick...well mostly Ellie.
Ok, all Ellie. I just want to romance Ellie.
Umm...kind of, yes. What kind of DLC do you have in mind? The one quest going to Beantown Brewery with him was enjoyable, but not enough to make it glaringly obvious to me that we need Travis DLC. A bit more depth to your idea could be helpful here.
edit - The scenario you described above sounds down right dull to me. Travis and his work with Diamond City radio is cool, but I don't really have a burning desire to learn more about his past or his future.
I'd rather see DLC that includes new characters, new locations, and new quest lines. Not some "digging into the past" quest about Travis.
It makes me want to claw my ears when I hear him trying to finish a sentence. DAMN IT!!
I was a bit tongue-and-cheek about my suggestion, but I also sense that people didn't enjoy the quest quite as much as I did.
I was so proud of him...
I like Travis, don't get me wrong. He's a good kid, and he got over his problems, with a little help from his friends.
But I do not see him being the focus of a DLC having a lot of meat on it's bones.
Nah, I don't really want anything to do with him. I'd rather be able to get WRVR Broadcast Station going.. have them put on those radio shows they complain about doing but don't actually do.
The really annoying thing is he doesn't decapitate. Even Curie with a super sledge does nothing. He just dies.
He's the DJ on Diamond City Radio, starts off kinda whiny, can do a quest to give him a brighter outlook on life.
He can die, but the guards go hostile. I will see if I can accidentally kill him during the bar fight.
Is Travis a crossdresser? Not that it matters to me, I have nothing against transgender behaviors or inclinations . . . but I found a "Rose Colored Sequin Dress" in his container there in his Air Stream.
Cannot imagine being trans would be a real easy role to play in the Wastelands. Might go a long way toward explaining his anxiety.
A DLC where you form an LGBT-Rights group in the Commonwealth with Travis as the main quest giver could have potential . . .
This is actually a really good idea. People complains about the lacks of variety in non violent quests, and about the lack of songs, with this you address both problems a bit.
The whole Travis thing is just lame. I would rather have a way to bring Three Dog down from the Capital Wastelands than have to deal with Travis any more. A real DJ with a personality would be a nice change from a pimply faced teenager that never learned to stand up for himself. Even after Travis learns to stand up for himself he is still annoying.
Better yet lets get a DJ similar to Doctor Johny Fever from WKRP. You youngsters need to go do some research if you have no clue who he was. LOL
