DLC Build you're own Robot Idea

Post » Sat Dec 19, 2015 8:40 pm

Note: Not sure which thread I should've posted this in.

This idea comes from harnessing the power of pre-war and institute technology to create your own Robot.

Choose you're model i.e. Codsworth, Assultron, synth

Have in settlements Robot upgrade station in which you can change their weapons, voice(pitch), armor.

Also create basic robots for settlement defense would be fun.

Any more Ideas related to this are welcome.

There's already a mod for this though.

You mean like http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/712/??

Also, there's a specific subforum for http://www.gamesas.com/forum/330-fallout-4-mods/.....

Yes that does seem like it, although I was thinking of something even more advanced with colour schemes, jetpacks etc.

And also have this for consoles (as my laptop is not capable of running FO4 so i bought it on PS4).

I think it would be cool, but I'd like this 1 or 2 ways.

First Way: Settlement Defense: The ability to build a robot, or place a robot to aid in settlement defense and not population.

Under the Defense tab, you can pick from the different models to "place" in your settlement. It'll have a defense mode and offense mode.

Second Way: Companion: Customized Robot (pick 1 or a couple of different models) Whatever weapons you place in its inventory, it'll be able to use if that model of robot can "use" it. (example: placing a flamer in a Mr.Handy inventory gives it a flamethrower.... or placing a laser weapon in the inventory gives it lasers)

If its a companion, you have to bring it to a "Robot" workbench to customize it or something.

Why does everyone give mods. Mods are things that ussually a begginers computer scientist messes with and is ussually awful In one way or another. Unless they are small tweaks.

I made Bethesda to professional add this system within. Being able to make a synth would be great

I am thinking we live in different worlds. Do they have blimps instead of planes in yours?

But seriously, you must have awfully high standards, or not bothered looking at mods.

I've downloaded tons of skyrim mods. Most of them are nothing I couldn't do in a couple of minutes. They ussually are game breaking, don't think about balance, or completely miss tons of neccassary details.

Now I'm not saying every mod. But the ones that are good are few. I got sick of them and just added up having convenient mods like "more carriages" ect

If someone perhaps makes their own apparel in maya and makes sure they spawn in random drops and shops. And not just placed in a random box. Than yes that's a decent mod that adds new customizations. However didn't see any or barley any of those mods.

Second way please.

If you can customize it in a similar way you can customize the power armor it's better.

Okay then ... I'll see myself out.

---

Wait, wait ... hold on ... if you're THAT good, you can program your own! With your speed and abilities you could have this whipped up in just a few hours! Link me by christmas and I'll try it out. Thanks for making this!

I was hoping for both ways.

Also an idea related to this would have a platform on the back of your hover robot so you could drive it around.

Seems like a missed opportunity with the new crafting system that you couldn't build( or at least reprogram with robotics expert) robots to guard or care for your settlements.

I would love this, 10/10 idea, I want a R2D2 sized trash can robot with a jet pack that hacks computers so I don't need to.
