Fallout, RobCo, Tex Murphy, and other similarities

I find it interesting that both the Fallout series and the Tex Murphy adventure series (some of you must know what this is) feature the name "RobCo" prominently in the games. Both series are set in the post-apocalyptic U.S. Fallout is set around 2078 after the "great war", while the Tex Murphy games take place around 2042 after "World War III". Both series feature anachronistic technologies and early 20th century culture. Fallout games have old-fashioned tube TVs, computer terminals, and the likes, while Tex Murphy games have fax machines and many references to film noir, hard-boiled detectives, and the likes. In both series, "Robco" is the maker of many of the gadgets used by the protagonist. All these are conincidences, of course. But wouldn't it be nice that if a Fallout game is ever to be set in San Francisco (where the Tex Murphy games are set), that you would bump into an old-age Tex Murphy himself? Btw, the creator of Tex Murphy is named Chris Jones, and so is the co-founder of Obsidian, which made Fallout New Vegas.
