ED-E quest problem

Post » Sun Jun 20, 2010 10:49 am

So I got ED-E working myself (by repairing it). I got the quest to take to the scrapyard, but when I talk to the old woman, nothing happens. Am I missing something here?

Go find the radio station conducted from a broken-down trailer. There are 2 sensor modules in the trailer. It's in the south part of the map, but I can't remember where. In retrospect that probably doesn't help much.

I already repaired him. I'm still showing the quest for him in my log as active, yet when I talk to Old lady gibson, she says nothing to me.

Thank you! I have all that I need except for 1 Sensor Module and I've spent many hours hunting for one as I travel around. I'll focus in that area; I'm in Legion territory right now.

Safe travels. :D

You get the quest from his former owner, the guy in Primm that you get all the other quests from. Go ask him about his robot and he'll give you a quest to throw it away (even though you already fixed him)

Thank you Fallen and Wraith. I ended up getting ED-E through my repair skill. Of course, after I got him, I found Sensor Modules everywhere. I'm wondering if there's a way to improve his firepower? Anyone? I put him on Aggressive to fight the Nightkin but I'm a wild woman with the Incinerator and poor thing went unconscious a few times. oops. I know it's not for close quarters but it was the most powerful weapon I had. So, how to make his firepower stronger...is there a way? Thanks anyone. :)

ED-E seems to be a better mule than warrior. Unfortunately, he still tries, and dies, often.

If you're on a PC, and stuck at the scrapyard there's a code to reset his quest in the wiki.

Later on you'll be contacted by the Followers and the Brotherhood asking you to bring ED-E to them. Followers upgrade damage, Brotherhood armor. Not sure how to initiate this quest, I randomly got it when I was out in the wastes.

Repair ED-E.

Next you'll need to take him with you and meet people who mention certain keywords like Enclave, Poseidon Energy, and ARCHIMEDES. Talk to Ignacio Rivas at HELIOS One who will use all of them. ED-E will give you two messages about his purpose, the first to the Chicago Enclave, the second to the Navarro branch. (Unfortunately, they were wiped out two games ago.)

Wait two days and ED-E will be 'hacked' by the Brotherhood of Steel, who say they have been monitoring ED-E's transmissions and desire his tech. (Of course they do...)

At this point, you will be given clear instructions. Be advised, at some point youi will be ggiven the choice of briefly surrendering ED-E to the Brotherhood of Steel or the Followers of the Apocalypse. If you want better armor for ED-E, go with BoS, while the Followers will give him a better laser.

Wow, there's 6-7 threads on this subject. I randomly chose this one.

Using the "setstage" console command on the wiki, I managed to get the first log to play, but I've also been to the Helios plant before taking ED-E there and already spoke to the dude there. I tried talking to him again, but like the woman at the scrapyard, it's one time only for the keywords.

I tried the setstage command again changing the last 10 to 20, but that didn't work. I also tried resetting the NPC with kill/resurrect and disable/enable, but his talk options never reset.

Anyone got some insight?
