Any idea when I can play the game I pre-ordered?

Post » Sun Dec 20, 2015 6:11 am

I understand, in most cases, you receive money, and the customer receives product, and that is the end of the transaction. In this case, you received money, I have yet to receive working product.

Still, when I launch steam, no patch is there to fix my issue.

I am unable to open any of the two vaults I have come across, and I have no access to VATS. When I tried to open them, the animation where I plug my pip-boy in and try to mash the button happens, however, the clear lid didn't open so I didn't mash the button and the door never opened.

A ticket was opened long ago and the only thing I have received was a message from a bot that I, in fact, submitted a support ticket. I'm not some child you for you to ignore, I'm a grown advlt who expects better customer service. You have had plenty of time, during development, and since launch, to fix this issue.

How about you fix the game, like now, or you refund my money so I can use it on a game that actually works, made by a company that actually cares.

To think I've been a fan since Daggerfall. I'm very disappointed in you Bethesda.

There's a post there explaining a potential fix. https://steamcommunity.com/app/377160/discussions/0/496881136901936538/

Thank you, but I've already tried this, back in November. For some reason, dumping and resetting the layers just will not release VATS.

So, how about a dxdiag? What settings do you play at? Vsync on? Any mods? What have you tried to solve this before?

I hope your ticket with Bethesda had more information than your OP. Because there's little to work with there.

Anyhow. I'll ask the obvious question: does it happen when you start a new game as well?

Did you even read the op? It has been like this since a couple days after launch. This means, no mods.. just straight and clean game.

Nothing is wrong with my system. I build and repair them for a living. My specifications are beyond what the game calls for, so I play at max settings.

I already attempted what Jasper1979 has posted, over a month ago, when this issue first manifested. I haven't played the game since, yet I was foolish enough to pre-order it. The fact that it is still not fixed is very frustrating.

The problem is with the game and shoddy programming.

You really don't need any additional information than what I have given. I played the game, like a normal human being, the lid on the vault control panel didn't flip open, so my character could not hit the button, during the animation sequence. VATS will not activate.

A DXDIAG is not going to make the error any more clear.

I'm not going to start the game over, then play for many hours until I get two each of the two vaults to see if they will open.

Many people are having this issue. I'm not alone in this.

If you refuse to accept help when asked to do something, why bother even asking for it? You think he enjoys wasting his own time?

Unless he is a gamesas dev, I seriously doubt he can help. He asked for a DXDIAG, where one isn't necessary, for crying out loud.

I'm not having a system or driver error, I'm having a "someone messed up during programming the game" error. I would like someone with gamesas to address this issue.

On the other hand, many pple dont have this issue. Maybe it can be triggered by a sequence of events or random or whatever. Anyway, pple here are trying to help but we can see you just wanna rant. Maybe you can indicate that and we will stay clear from your post ...

First of all: Beth doesn't respond here often.

Second: If it's purely a matter of messed programming then a majority of players would have this issue. Since that's far from the case it's extremely likely that it is a problem your end.

Third: With an attitude like that, and with the complete lack of information you give, you'll have a very hard time finding help.

Fourth: For troubleshooting a complete picture of the situation is always required. And if a solution can't be found, that complete picture is required for proper cataloguing of issues. Hence: a dxdiag, and the other things that were asked.

I wish you a good day and good luck with your issue.

I'm sorry you feel that way.

My sequence of events are above. I played the game as intended, it glitched.

I believe I have given the necessary information. Unfortunately, there are many others with the same issues.

I would like a solution that does not entail scrapping all of my current game, restarting the game, playing for many hours, over the course of a few days, only to have this bug occur again.

I do not understand what "attitude" you are referring to. I'm not here to tell jokes. I'm here because I have an issue with a product I paid for. I would do the same if this were any other product. This websit isn't a hang out to me. To me, it is a liaison between a product maker and the consumer. It is that simple.

Nobody at Bethesda posts here, expect help from fellow gamers who will ask for stuff.

You sound very ungrateful that people are trying to help you.

Seriously. I'm not here to get attacked by overzealous fans or anything. I just need a proper solution.

I find it fascinating that in both of your posts, you referred to people offering help, yet in neither of your posts, did you actually offer any. Apparently, you only came to deride me, and not offer anything constructive.

I hope you can resolve whatever it is that compels this behavior.

A proper solution will not be forthcoming by posting your situation here. At least not until the CK is out and someone can look into the script and see why it might break. Even then, no guarantees.

If you want Bethesda to address it, you need to contact support again. They don't monitor the forums for this sort of thing, and never have.

My aim was to show you that you're being silly. I would have happily offered help as I have many many times before. You're the type of person who is not deserving of that help. Your first post told me everything I needed to know. Your reply to a request by a user was what over-filled the beer.

Good luck with your issue,

Thank you for your response, Arthmoor. I was afraid that I may have to wait or the CK, since it will still be a long while. I am confident that someone will fix the issue with it, as they do with all of the Elder Scrolls and Fallout games. I wasn't aware that they don't even monitor their own forums. Thanks again.

But you didn't offer help. All you have done was insult and talk down to me. We are strangers, I am not your peer that you can talk down to. I am not deserving of help? How does that even make sense? I bought a product, just like I assume you did, yet, I deserve a broken product and no assistance, because I'm a straight-forward person who doesn't feel the need to waste time giving information that is irrelevant to my issue?

What a dike.

@OP, could you please PM me a copy of one of your saves, preferably one right before using picking up the pipboy in vault 111.

Yep I totally am. But you still haven't answered my question. Why ask for help when you refuse to cooperate? Is their time more valuable than yours? If your knowledge is such that we are wasting your time, why are you still here?
