My laptop is Asus ROG G771JW.

Intel Core i7 4720HQ CPU @ 2.60ghz

16 GB 1600 Mhz RAM

NVIDIA Geforce GTX 960M 4 gb & Intel HD Graphics 4600

Windows 8.1 Pro

I can't run the game on full screen (it's crashes when I want to try every time), only Windowed mode. What can I do?

To run a DxDiag report follow the steps below:

1. If you are running Windows Vista or higher go to your task bar.
2. Click on, "Start Button".
3. Click on, "Run".
4. In the pop-up window enter DxDiag and hit ok.
5. The DirectX Diagnostic Tool pop-up window should appear.
6. Click on, "Save all information".

We are seeing a number of systems that come with 2 GPU and the switching having some issues. My guess, its not using your GTX 960m but the Intel graphic instead. Take a look at this https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/879750/rog-with-gtx-960m-big-problem-/ Probably give u some ideas how to force it to use the Nvidia GPU ...

I set to use Nvidia GPU always with maximum performance, but it's still not working.....

Is there anything in the BIOS that can be select to use the Nvidia as the main GPU?

hi, i also have a rog, and i have ben having issues with fallout 4 also, i never tried to run it on window mode(so i duno if it runs on window mode), but almost every nvidia update give me problems, says that ...nvidia kernel driver stop responding... or something like it, i have ben solving it by geting to a recovering point prior to the nvidia update and then installing(nvidia update) again, sometimes it solves it at first and sometimes i need to do it 2 or 3 times, but when it get fixed it works 100% till the next driver update, now i got a new problem, my windows 10 got some updates this morning, and when i tried fallout 4 i got the same problem, i never had this hapening on windows updates, and i had no time to recover my system yet but i am almost sure it will solve the problem, coz all the times i got this problem it was allways after nvidia updates and now it was on the same day i had a windows update, cant be coincidence

no idea if it is your situation, but you posting a crash situation on the same day as i started again to have crash at start and having a rog also(not the same model) kinda look familiar but other than downgrade updates and resinstalling is all ive ben doing, no idea what caused it or why after reinstalls it get working again perfectly

edit : oh and about the graphic cards used, the first time i got problems i checked it and was using nvidia already, i had the problem with other games not using nvidia but was not the case with fallout

It doesn't work as in, FO4 now runs on Nvidia GPU but can't do fullscreen or its still using Intel HD graphic to run FO4?

It will likely say INtel in the ini file. That doesnt mean it isnt using the Nvidia GPU.

THe launcher is not a 3d app. So it will detect the Intel and set graphic level.

Can you select fullscreen resolution in windowed mode + borderless

I play W+B mode at my monitors native resolution.
