Planning A Forum Roleplay: The Adventure

Post » Sun Dec 20, 2015 11:40 am

Oh, ye gods. It's been years since I've made a thread here. The controls are so different. I'm scared, guys. Hold me.

Okay! So, for anyone joining us here and now, a few of us 'retired' RPers met up on the Book of Faces today and decided we missed it here.

So, this is us. Trying to rekindle the fire.

This thread is, as of this writing, for brainstorming as to what to actually make. So, uhm.. let the doing of stuffs commence?

Adventure RP! I have some new, conflicted characters that need to wreck havok on the world.

I much desire a classic adventure! I always liked the rps that were following a main quest (where none of us are actually the hero of the games), or the ones like FC4's Dragon series of rps that were just set in Tamriel that did their own things.

This does bring up the obvious question: What the heck is this thing going to be specifically?

Should we try an EoaE-style thing and follow a game's plot? Collaborate on a single group-projecty idea? Chuck ideas at the digital wall until something sticks?

EoaE would be nice. I did like that RP. By following the main quest, everyone knew what we had to do and we didn't have to wait for the OP if timezones become conflicting. Come to think of it, I might have the original OP for EoaE around somewhere, since I hosted it for some time.

If it were up to me, I'd have someone as the primary designer and "head" of the rp, with the others taking a secondary role in development of the setting and parameters. I always loved the good ol' rule #1 I used to see so much

"I am the lord and master of this rp. If I say your character is a llama, your character is a llama"

It also helps in doing characters since they require the GMs approval
