Settlement Happiness Increasing Extremely Slow

Trying to get the platinum trophy for Fallout 4, so of course that means getting this annoying trophy. My happiness is at 90%, but it's moving extremely slow. What I'm doing right now is just sitting in a chair right next to all my merchants. I placed a lot of painting (my settlement is a mess right now) I have about 10 stores. Mostly tier 3 clinics, I have 22 settlers, with the right amount of food and water. I need help :( (this is on ps4 btw)

I hate achievements that you don't get by 'normal' play. My understanding is if you have 20 full worked med clinics. food, water and beds to equal number of settlers. And you stay in the settlement long enough you will get to 100. No one seems to be able to confirm if paintings and such do anything. I also heard that if you bought that dog from the guy on the road and build a dog house for him it is worth a point or two.

Why anyone would do this in game for any other reasons then to get the achievement is beyond me and it it the reason that it is my least favorite in FO 4.

Anything that spruces up the place and makes it feel like home is a positive, but certainly not instant increases.

Though, I will say this: after placing magazine racks and plants in my settlement, my points went up by 5 while I was exploring. I was surprised by this, as I've never seen it jump this fast before.

Of course, the second a new settler arrived, those 5 points quickly vanished.

It's unfortunately probably going to drop back down after a bit. Your being present seems to have a big impact on it.

Another thing I've found that helps is having a bar with nearby places to sit. Throw a few stools in front of it, and a few benches around it. Even if my settlement is a pure farming settlement with no other shops, I'll build at least a tier 2 bar just for the 10+ point Happiness bump.
