NPCCompanions Unique Dialogue and Behavior

OK, so I paged around this forum for a bit, because I do remember seeing a thread about companion's and what they are up to or something like that. However, this forum moves faster than than a nuclear rocket, and I wanted to recap some of the things I've heard yesterday, while they are still fresh in my mind.

What are some of the dialogue, coming from Companions or NPCs, that struck you as pretty witty, funny, thoughtful or just plain weird? (We all know the repetitive Settler dialogue, so let's not go there lol) I haven't really traveled with many companions, besides Danse, and would love to hear what insightful dialogue you have witnessed.

Here is something that made me LOL yesterday, I had heard it before, but OMG it was so fitting for the location we were in and the tense moments we experienced.

Danse and I were exploring the Museum of Witchcraft. We were sneaking through the building and while looking through a toolbox in a dark corner, Danse said something along the lines of: (the first part is said in a causal, a bit I'm a larger than life Paladin type voice and the the last part, he sounds rather "small" and quiet)

"You know, other people would be really scared in this situation, but due to my training, I am not... shhh, did you hear that?"

I love those moments when your companions actually express their personalities. When we rescued a kid in a fridge, Danse told me that it is unwise from a tactical point, to bring a kid along... after a small pause, he said, but we can't leave him here alone.

Or, I am walking around in T-60 Power Armor (usually I wear the X01) and a guard in Diamond City said. "What, did you join the Brotherhood of Steel now?" First time I ever heard them say that.

Another time, I take Deacon to Diamond City and suddenly he's dressed like one of the guards. LOL

I've been mostly running with X6-88 lately, and he's a fairly quiet one, but he had a few amusing lines, like telling me there's a rumor a treasure is buried in Jamaica Plain as we were nearing it, or complimenting me on a successful mission after I rescued a kidnapped settler (finally someone appreciates the time and effort I put into those). Also, in the Institute when one of the scientists was being patronizing and saddling me with some apparent fetch quest X6 pitched in with an angry 'don't forget who you're talking to, doctor'. That was nice.

And as for Diamond City guards, one had this to say about the company I keep, word for word: 'Listen, um... Your pal there is kinda... scaring the crap outta me...' B)

Nice! I like that he put that doctor in his place and that he's so appreciative of your efforts. :) Danse always likes it, if a settlement is asking for help and I tell them, don't worry, I will take care of it!

LOL at the Diamond City guards. I like them way more than the silly Skyrim guards. They always have some interesting comments.

For me, those random moments are definitely some of the most enjoyable in the game.

Danse and MacCready are my companions.

MacCready has tons of good lines...I stole something the other day, and he said, "If they cared about it, they wouldn't have left it out like that." Sometimes when I pick locks, he'll say, "Nice...now can you do it blindfolded?" Bring him aboard the U.S.S. Constitution and chat to the First Mate. He has several fun dialogue choices.

MacCready probably has the best dialogue overall, honestly, but I'd like to see Danse's BOS stuff replaced.

Danse had mentioned bivouacking for an evening, which I found funny.

@Agrona - Try ignoring Danse during thoughts/relationship/dismiss/stay you haven't already. His lines are really sweet.

Pretty much everything Deacon says is golden. I just took him with me for the first time last night for any length of time and he's hilarious.

I told him to wait at one point and he says "Absolutely, and my eagerness has nothing to do with me wanting a smoke break." After a fight: "We seem to do that a lot...winning." Picking caps up off a body: "Ahh, the time honored tradition of looting." There are tons more but I can't remember them all. Take Deacon around with you for like a hour some time. It's worth it.

Been told by my SO that if you take Curie to the abandoned shack in the Glowing Sea that has a hidden military base and a X-01 suit in it she excitedly exclaims "We should go in all the shacks now!" and that any time there is some dilapidated old museum or tour or the like she asks if you can ride the boat/take the tour/etc.

I also really like some of Danse's location specific dialog because it humanizes him a lot and shows there is concern for the Commonwealth or people generally in the Brotherhood of Steel. That one with the ghoul child already mentioned is one. Another is in the Vault under Malden Middle School where he says something like "I hope the children from the school above didn't have to live out the rest of their days in this cage" or something like that.

Danse also seems to always forcefully follow up with any intimidation based persuade I make, which is a nice touch.

Hancock also has a lot of good ones. "Okay, now I'm going feral!" at an enemy that won't die is probably one of my favorites.

*Edit* Sorry for some reason the forum is eating all my attempts to format this into paragraphs.

Danse is my husbando, so I bring him a lot. People said he hates all ghouls but he's actually like it if you help innocent ghouls and hate it if you kill innocent ghouls as well, he dislikes the Covenant experimenting and torturing synths, and he likes if you side with Ironclads and against the Scavengers. He's actually pretty funny in a hypocritical way sometimes, as you already have mention, he said his training preventing him from being surprised then gets surprised.

If you bring MacCready along, he makes a lot of references to previous game, and he also tears up when he's close to children toys and cribs.

Another good one is when Danse mourns for the people who didn't get proper burials. (This was in a graveyard location.)

When you go to Bunker Hill, he suggests having a moment of silence for the fallen soldiers.

He also has small interactions with Synth Shaun, something I have not observed with the other companions.

I also love a line of his in the Fairline Estates. At the boarded house, he says something like, "Be careful. That door has been blockaded for a reason."

If they'd only fix those BOS lines... :)

If you bring Danse along for the Lost Patrol, the whole quest turned into one of his mini personal quest as well. He made a lot of comments in each step along the way. Hell, you can't finish the quest without talking to him first if you bring him along.

I didn't think he was available as a follower until you get on to the Prydwen.

I had him when I went to Atomatoys and he had a funny line when we got to a roped display.
I normally switch followers for various things but am using him a fair bit for this character.
If you've ever had him and got the smoke trail across the sky that was different for me. Unfortunately when we found the crash site, and the source of the distress signal, he didn't say a thing.
When he said "We must investigate immediately," I marked the location on my map (I'd been there before without anyone) and fast travelled to Abernathy then walked the rest of the way.
Would've been good if he said something about it. I don't know if anyone else has commentary about that location.
