So, No hardcoe Mode?

This is more disappointing. I loved having dialog for each skill and perk in NV.

That's not a rumor.... that was shown as early as E3. It's not uncommon for games to give the player a taste of immense power near the beginning, only to take it away. Think about any 'hero' game that you start off with all your powers, are somehow stripped of them, and work the rest of the game to get them back. Same concept. Only this time it's a power armor and mini gun in crap condition that you don't have the ability to restore and use all the time. You let me know how much the game feels like a fast travel shoot em up after you use that power armor the first time lol

Why would you not be able to repair, if you can even create own armor mods?

Well as long as you don't interpret survival difficulty as a a survival/hardcoe mode, it's basically just very hard difficulty but with more legendary-ranked enemies who drop more great loot.

Because they didn't want it in the game? There is a lot of disdain surrounding degredation and repair. I don't think they'd ever satisfy everyone with either having it in or not. Ultimately they decided it wasn't something they wanted in the game so they didn't add it. It always felt like a chore to me. They could have found a good balance and changed it while keeping it in the game I'm sure. But I'm not mad it's gone at all. I can focus more on exploring and the story than being upset my favorite weapon is going to break if I don't hoard other copies

Are you people really trying to convince readers you need the software to micro-manage your gaming behavior?

If you want hardcoe mode, play hardcoe mode.

You don't need a game to remind you to eat, drink, or sleep. Ammo having weight doesn't negate the total amount you can carry (hundreds of rounds).

The system employed by FONV was anything but "hardcoe".

a system that prevents you to strafe a stimpack′s hotkey is not hardcoe, so one that let you do this, is what? Dificult for imbeciles?

Seriously, are still people uttering that... "pretend that the game has mechanics and act like it" nonsense? If your character had infinite health would you pretend to be injured? If the game had no weapons would you go like "pew-pew, np"? Why don't you also pretend you play fallout while staring at a blank screen?

You must be new to the Fallout series. Here's something you may not be aware of: in the game, when you take damage, that damage can cripple you, and you need to heal yourself.

Really, you should know better. I've not seen a single example that FONV's hardcoe mode was nothing more than a nagging PDA telling you to eat something, while taking 4 days to actually get around to affecting stats.

You can call it hardcoe/softcoe - survival whatever. It brings immersion to the game and somewhat restricts fast travel. Good idea but could be improved in new vegas to make it more challenging. Your playstyle become more cautios. More fun to play for me.

Hahahahahha ok!

Who needs these nagging messages about that survival stuff and that annoying degradation, power armor shiny pewpew!

If the game didn't have a crippling or even health system, would you pretend that you were being crippled and pretend to take damage? Because that would be just as stupid as what you suggest (pretend you need to eat etc).

As for FNV's hardcoe mode, they could have easily improved it to the level of so many existing mods for FO3, FNV, TES etc, as they have improved other aspects of the game. I don't see why you're stuck on a specific setting.

If a thing has to be moved into a separate mode because many players couldn't stomach it, then maybe it's flawed.

Oh, ok that's kinda stupid but still better than only very hard.

If there is no degradation, than the power armor/minigun won't break?

I guess you didn't know that you can lose pieces of your Power Armor lol it doesn't degrade, it get's damged and comes off. I don't rememeber which video is was but we see a piece of power armor being shot off. The minigun can easily be explained by not finding ammo for it until later in the game. You don't just start the game with a great set of power armor and minigun that you can use all the time and all the sudden you're some wasteland god. The power armor also has fusion cells that run out and you can't use the power armor anymore.

Or maybe there are players who don't want to spend what precious little game time they have in their busy lives playing with time consuming and repetitive harcore mechanics.

Coming back from work, tired, just wanting to play and get right straight to the point of things. No time for a thing called immersion, low difficulty settings because dying with such little time is terrible, no energy to check if the weapon needs repairing or if your character is hungry etc etc. You think I don't get you? I was like that until I realized I was caught up in a routine and rushed something I could have enjoyed more. But everyone is different - perhaps you are perfectly content with what you are doing, but don't think that everyone who has little time can't be bothered with such "meaningless" things.

I'm glad it's not in. I HATE micro-managing things. Bad enough I have to deal with my inventory, last thing I need to worry about is whether or not I'm eating drinking sleeping pooping enough.

There's that word, immersion. How immersive is it to do something so unrealistically ridiculous like combining two weapons in the middle a fight because you shot 120 rounds and it's programmed to break at that point? If you want to talk immersion, tell me why prewar guns degrade around the same rate as gun runners arsenal which is produced after the war, so radiation hasn't been a factor in weakening the materials. Degredation and repair was a chore that only led players to carry around multiples of the same type of weapon and micromanage their inventory to cater to that mechanic. It served no core function other than our weapon not svcking when 100%. If doing things just to do them is immersive for you, mod it back in. I'm sure other players are more than happy it's gone

The only thing I really really want is ammo to have weight so I can't walk around with 10,000 rounds of ammunition all the time. Hunger thirst and sleep frankly will be done by modders and they can do a better job.
