Accuracy and range when aiming manually

Post » Sat Jan 09, 2016 3:07 pm

Hi

I'm just about to mod my bolt action sniper rifle but before I use a lot of valuable adhesive and what not I just wanted to verify a few things. Obviously modding for increased damage from a weapon is straightforward enough but what about things like range and accuracy when zooming in manually, will the mods for that make a difference outside of vats? I prefer to aim manually when sniping so just wanted to check.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

I'm not 100% sure, but range affects damage drop off, so I'd say yes. As for accuracy, it may affect scope sway outside of VATS. If you can account for that, it probably isn't needed as much.

I us extended range and accuracy old Old Faithful and outside of VATS, I can destroy enemies at a distance outside of VATS with almost no sway on my reflex sight. Sometimes, it's the only way to take down a target using cover as VATS can't give me a high enough percentage to be worth it.

Range is just a stat for how far the gun can be fired and still do the dmg seen on the guns stat and is just as important in as out of VATS

Accuracy is a catch all stat for recoil and bullet spread and generally speaking is good both in and out of VATS. The only mods that, as I understand it only affects real time combat is mods that increase either hip or aiming accuracy, such as long or short barrels, rifle stock or pistol grip, etc.

Mods that increase aim accuracy boosts the spread reduction that comes naturally with ADS, while hip accuracy mods reduces the rate in which the crosshair spreads while hip firing.
