Missing/problematic race models

Post » Sun Jun 20, 2010 7:53 pm

Hi, I am new to modding, I just recently started playing oblivion. So I have the following list of mods:

Now My problem is this:

Some of the new races introduced in the mods have either black skin or are missing the models completly. When I try to create one of those "invisible" races my game crashes. Non standard eyes are also missing, instead I just get completly black eye, similiar with hair styles, I switch new hair style but they do not show up.

I used BOSS to optimize my load order and wrye bash to create a bashed patch [ although I had the same problem even before making the batched patch.]

I have no idea whats the problem, any help would be much appreciated.

EDIT: The full list of problematic races include: Mazken, Ohmes, Ohmes-raht, Sea Elf, Xivilai, Aureal, Deadra Seducer, Hidden Elf,

It appears that you've not included some of the requirements for the mods. I also couldn't see what race mods you mean. Can you put up links to those specific ones?

I belive the problem lies with Race Balancing Project.

Well, yes, and no. The problem lies with the combination of Race Balancing Project and COBL Races, which are sorta the same thing, as COBL Races is based on a trimmed-down older version of RBP. You need to decide which one of the two you want to use and remove the other. You can't use them both together.

If you choose COBL Races, make sure to download the COBL Cosmetic Resource package, which contains the meshes and textures for the COBL-added races.

And if you use RBP, experiment with the OptionalNPCDiversity selections. The TNR one approximates the TNR functionality that's now a part of COBL Races (though the RBP version merges the animal-based races that COBL does not, leading to some odd mixes--a mohawk on an Argonian or two, for example).

Both Cobl Races and Race Balancing Project have their resource files outsorced. If you haven't downloaded the resource files (which are linked in the release threads, the readme, the download locations, and several other places) you get the error you're describing ;).

Quick fix: Install the resource files :).

Funny thing is, I installed BOTH: RBP and COBL without the resource packages. No idea how I missed out on the essential files. But anyway thanks a lot for the replies.
