Fallout 4 Mouse Acceleration is literally not removable

Post » Sun Jan 10, 2016 12:35 am

Hi, despite reading ~10 guides and reading every post on this sub/pcmasterrace I'm still not able to turn off the mouse acceleration.

I played around with every possible variation/.ini for :

-bMouseAcceleration=0

-bForceIgnoreSmoothness=1

-iPresentInterval=0

I also checked if my CCC had any [censored] settings, but apparently not. I'm on Windows 10 so i made sure to uncheck the standard acceleration that is in the mouse option tab.

Honestly, I can't refund because I'm already past the 3 hours mark after trying to figure that crap out ALL DAY. So now I gotta make it work.

As a CS player, having acceleration on is literally the worst thing and i HIGHLY doubt that Fallout has any problems with my hardware in general whatsoever.

So, is there something I'm not [censored] aware of? On a side note, I'm using the Fallout 4 tweaker and obviously also tried changing the inis to "not overridable" or whatever it's called, nothing works.

Thanks in advance

I do not know what you have changed in your CCC panel, but i would suggest you to leave it at default settings.

Also Fallout 4 has Vsync enabled default. Do not forced it (disable it) through your CCC panel. Strange things can happen.

---------

Start off with the Fallout4.ini file in C:\Users\[Your Username]\Documents\My Games\Fallout4 folder. Under the [Controls] you must add:
bMouseAcceleration=0
Then under [Display] add:
bForceIgnoreSmoothness=1
Then go to that folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4 -find the Fallout4Prefs.ini, and you need to add the same line under ‘[Display]’.

bForceIgnoreSmoothness=1

--------

That should do the trick actually...

Hi mark,

I didn't mess about with any CCC settings, I just checked if there was something unusual going on.

With my original post I was trying to say that I have indeed tried all those steps. I can safely say that they do not do the trick for me, for reasons beyond me.

At this point I'm wondering whether people can actually tell whether they have acceleration or not. My game is playable, fast movement with the mouse results in high acceleration though.

I personally think that the steps mentioned in pretty much every guide simply LOWER the acceleration but dont actually turn it off.

Perhaps someone else has figured it out, if those settings having a real impact on the game or not. :shrug:

Fallout 4 does not support raw input. Same BS as Skyrim. All you can do is tone down the interpolation a bit, and adjust the filter to no longer weigh the X and Y axis differently.

Revert you ini files back (or delete them and verify your game cache files) and try this tool: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/102/?

Hi Mark,

i'm already using this tool. Unfortunately the ability to turn off acceleration has been removed in newer versions.

I tried playing the game with and without the Configuration Tool.
