Settlers and their antics. Also settlements.

While many of the aspects of the game are solid I feel the settlers are in need of some serious TLC in future patches.

1. Settler can steal from your stashes.

2. Settlers spawn in the oddest places. i.e. In sanctuary i boarded up all the houses entrences. I have made living areas for them that are far superior. Every time i come backk to Sanctuary half, or more of the settlers are stuck in these houses even though there is no real way to get in the house as the entrences are boarded up. I did this to try and stop settlers from wandering too far away from their jobs and also so I can easily assign FREE settlers to new tasks as needed.

3. when you defend a settement the settlers offer praise....praise to the point that they will do nothihng else for days. i am unable topurchase from vendors...all they do is praise me . I do not mind the praise but let the NPC praise once and once you have interacted with them let them assume normal conversations.

4. Settlers need to rely on their defences more then they currently do. 12 Synth attack or a mirelurk queen? Let me missiles and heaver lasers cut em down.....I think an aggro radius greatly reduced would help this.....or some Ai intelligence that, when attacked, forces them to take defensive cover in building and or other SMART actions......

5. Provisioneers being immune to death and their brahmin running amok. I understand there needs to be some invulnerability otherwise settlers would be dying left and right.....but the roads are clogged with these NPC's and they are not very smart.....they , the provs, run offroad to chase more powerful mobs......when heavily damaged they just sit there and wait for the mob they aggrod to die or you to leave the area......I would love to see armed guards or better Ai in terms of provisioneers.

6. Better identification of farmers etc. people are having to play ken and barbie and dress up NPCs to identify them reliably. I do know they V command and the green highlight but Sanctuary is giant and they are not always near their jobs.

7. Better vendor pathihg. farmers assigned to vendor stands sometimes do not go there EVER yet you can still purchase from them.

8. Lvl 4 Vendors, most often, do not ever arrive at their locations. While finding them should be a great task, it is, but once you find them to have them never report for duty is very disappointing.

Settlements.

1. Not easy to build on uneven terrain even with ingenious floor options (concrete floors)

2. Would love the option to totally wipe any building.

3. Defenses have no real value beyond xp for building them or when you are present for an attack.

4. Enemies spawn within settlement walls and boundaries. While some of this is cool...like molerats digging up under your town......a fleet of synths should never spawn inside your settlement. EDIT Even synths can do that as they can teleport but lets use Bandits...

5. The ability to dispose of corpses through basic commands. Corpses in my settlements have been know to remain for the whole length of my game. Beyond E and dragging them off there should be a decay factor or thr ability to click and dispose or harvest their corpses for bones and leather where applicable.....or other raw mats.

6. radiation storms are lethal.......yet my whole settlement stands around in the rain talking about gibberish when instead they should be running for the shelter. or cover etc.

7. The ability to create shelters...the siren blows and all the npc's run to the shelter not the siren itself. A bunch of farmers with .38's trying to fight off 3 death claws is damn heroic but comical.

8. More options for interactive furnishings etc. You give us Nuka vending machines but they do nothing. Newspaper machines could be stocked with Pipers newspaper....things like this

While many would contend that this version of Fallout is an rpg fps type and that my requests are fluff .Iwill hold you guys, the devs to a higher standard. You introduce all these new aspects but have, so far, failed to deliver on them to a level that satisfies me and perhaps many others. 250+ hours into the game I am left feeling starved for some aspects of the game to be delivered in on a level that is expected for a AAA game developer.

Pretty much agree with all of the OP, but would note that building settler living areas, with assigned beds, and a place to chill, close to their work area will help keep them "confined". And when it comes to tracking down settlers, the Bar is your best friend. Comes a certain point in the evening, and you can be practically guaranteed to find everyone not assigned to guard duty gathered around the Bar, open or not.

Just be sure to give 'em places to sit, and some tunes to chillax with after their hard day.
