Nice Found, a Mod that adds Cars as Containers and Ridable would be great. seems forever without the Construction Kit. :)

Except... isn't it just a demo of how to use Diamond City wall as a green-screen for overlapping images? Impressive as hell, of course, but not much to do with actual drivable vehicles... :(

Yes, but I find it very interesting that there were unfinished resources related to vehicles. It means Bethesda was contemplating or "toying" with the idea of adding drivable vehicles, but never implemented them in-game. That means a DLC is possible. If not, it seems resources are there to make it much easier for modders. Without those resources a very good drivable vehicle mod was made for FONV.

Remember when Skyrim was released, the devs announced that mounted combat wasn't implemented because they didn't know how to properly balance the game with it. BS. It wasn't there on release, because they weren't done with it, but were ready to release the game. Not too long after, they patched Skyrim with mountable combat, and made no other changes, so I doubt they burned the midnight oil trying to find a way to properly balance it. They just finally finished it.

You might be interested to know that people have made drivable vehicle mods for New Vegas (See XRE series) and iirc Fallout 3 had a mod similar to it? I can't remember. But I'm certain we'll get an XRE-esque series for Fallout 4 since the engine could probably handle it better then Fallout New Vegas's engine could.

Yes I've already tried XRE and loved it, and I haven't even tried the updated version with improved physics and the ability for companions to ride in the back. That, along with the fact that there may already be unused resources for it, give me hope...

How were you able to have Cait and Dogmeat out at the same time? Every time I've tried to take Dogmeat while having another companion I have to send one away.

Possibly, but I'd guess it's more likely the 'clean' car statics were just planned as scenery in the pre-war prologue.

Although... I have heard a few NPCs in FO4 mentioning how great it would be to be able to drive cars. So you never know, maybe something will crop up :).

Or not. It might be they had a stab at it, like for the real-time ridable carriages in Skyrim. For that they had recorded carriage driver dialogue to play during the ride, but couldn't get it to work and (unlike mounted combat) just abandoned the idea.

Yeah, they just gave up too soon. Eventually we got our real-time carriage. It was slightly buggy, but a great mod nonetheless.
