General Choa's Revenge worth it?

Ok so I have 10 strength the rooted perk and big leagues perk both rank one on my melee charecter. I am rank 8 and primarily use the bladed tire iron which does 84 damage. I was wondering should I get General Choa's Revenge. Looking at YouTube videos it says it does around 50 damage which seems fairly weak considering I do 30 more damage with my bladed tire iron which I got for free. It costs about 2000 caps and I currently have 1000. So should I get it or not?

PS: does it do 50% more damage to synths or just the pure robot sentry type enemys?

I personally didn't care for it (too enemy type specific for me). I found myself much happier with the furious power fist that you get for free when you kill swan. little tip if you decide to go after it, if you are too low a level to face him one on one, there is a bus sitting in one of the side streets, just lure him there and shoot him with whatever you've got from the inside of the bus, I got that weapon at level 8 doing that.

I faced him at lvl 30ish. Easy fight, but I didn't KNOW it would be easy. So I throw down a few mines, and go to chuck a grenade at him. Happen to find a nuka grenade in my inventory. "Hmmm. Well, haven't used this before." *chucks grenade*

Next thing I know is swan is blasted completely out of the pond, limbs flailing, and lands near a tree, then walks over my mines... /battle
