How do I power up the radio transmitter?

Post » Mon Jan 11, 2016 8:41 am

In "Taking Independence", I am stuck at where I have to power the radio transmitter. I know I have to place a generator, but I have no idea how to connect it...

Help? Xbox One...

Have you ever connected a generator to anything? If so it is the same thing.

If not place a generator on the ground. If you are on PC just stand in front of and hit space bar. A wire will come out of the generator. Move the wire to the transmitter and space bar again.

Edit: Be in workshop mode to do it. Place the generator, hit space drag the wire to what you want it to connect to and hit space again.

You know how to connect power sources with wire, right? If not it's explained in the help section.

Once you build enough power (one large generator, or two medium generators wired together will do the trick), be sure to wire it into the radio itself. There's a power connector thing on the building around the radio beacon, and a lot of people mistakenly wire their generators to that instead.

Mmkay, to start you need one Copper for each wire, but that's probably no big deal. If you highlight either the generator or the conduit on the transmitter, the list of button prompts on the bottom of the screen will show the button to Attach Wire. On PC it's the space bar. Anyway, hit that button, look at the object you want to connect, and hit the button again to connect them. If the objects are too far apart (wire only goes so far) or there's something in-between the objects (wires can't go through walls or other objects, although if you're clever you can put a wire through any gaps in the walls), the wire will be highlighted red and you can't place it.
